First Name Mix Up I-130/Marriage Certificate

I have been called by my middle name my entire life. I know it to be my first name. Whatever I sign up for, be it legal or not, I use my middle name as my first. On my I-130 my spouse and I are filing, I have it:

<first name> <middle name> <last name>

But on my marriage certificate, I have it:

<middle name> <last name>

All of the names are on my passport and birth certificate. Should I be worried about rejection even though legally it is my name?

I too, have been called by my middle name since birth, but I KNOW IT TO BE MY MIDDLE NAME. It sounds like so, do you.

If your "first name" is simply missing from your marriage certificate and your full name is on your passport, there's really not an issue. However, complete your forms correctly, with the given name from your marriage certificate entered as your middle name, and your actual first name where first given name goes.

In the "other names used" space on both the G325 and I-130 you could enter "Know from birth as Middle LAST." In my case though, I've been know as "Z. Middle LAST", so that's what I indicated.

No, "Z" is not really my first initial.

Going forward, be real. There was no "mix-up". You know your name. Be accurate and truthful on all documentation. Be aware also when buying airline tickets for international travel, that when your passport says First Middle Surname, that a ticket bought for F Middle Surname or Middle Surname will not match the name in the passport and the airlines won't let you on the plane. Buy the ticket as First Surname or First Middle Surname. You may not like it but you'll like it a whole lot more than buying one affordable ticket plus one not so affordable at the airport on travel day.
