I'm giving away or selling everything but what I need and what my cat needs. I'll probably end up rebuying my clothes because the climate is so much warmer. As it is, I don't own much currently. I have two family heirlooms, my guitar and my cat and anything else I can bring is gravy.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

Well I guess that makes moving easier for you, right? A good two thirds of my clothes are already over there, like you say the stuff for the warmer weather, but I have a lot of jackets (the weather on England necessitates it)... I was thinking of just taking them to this flea market in Houston that gives you money or store credit, kinda like a trade in.

God help us guitarists! I'm dreading to thinking of how much I'll have to spend getting my three, amps and pedals over there...

So I was driving to work this morning and recieved a text from USCIS that my case was recieved with a reciept number etc. I checked my email as soon as I got to work and the acceptance confirmation email says I am being routed to the Nebraska Service Center! SOOOOOO HAPPY!!! The odd thing is my check has not been cashed. Is that normal to recieve a reciept with out the check being cashed?

Hey shfantomx1! That's great news, really pleased to hear it. It should come out of your account within the next few days or so.

Thanks Shippingforecast! I hope this goes quick. I put pictures of our daughter in the petition along with her birth certificate and reiterated in several places that I am in the US Navy. Hopefully that will ease the Adjudicators mind and get us through this process quickly. I wish I could see the timelines for approval broken down by citizens vs LPRs vs military vets vs with kids or with out etc. Just to see if one has an advantage. Only wishful thinking.

From what I can gather it won't, it seems pretty much first in/first out (with the exception of whether you get an RFE or at present, whether your beneficiary is in the Philippines).

My Benificiery is in the Phillipines but I moved her to Manila after the Typhoon. The place she lived at was barely affected by the Typhoon. Not sure if it makes a difference.

Is she filing as Filipino? If so, that may have a big difference.

From what I and NotATailor could make out, and as outlined in that article USCIS is putting I-130s for Filipino beneficiaries near the top of the pile. From what I can gather using timeline data on here, it seems like the majority of I-130s hit approval (NOA2) after around one month.

Would there be something I need to submit extra or do they do it when they see her location on her G325A? That would be amazing if it comes in one month!

In honesty, I'm not really sure. I imagine they'll just see her nationality as Filipino and put it at the top of the stack. I can't imagine USCIS having the time to individually investigate whether each applicant from the Philippines has been affected by the typhoon.

I read they are proactively doing it with out any extra forms to submit...I guess we will wait and find out!

Well there you have it! Wishing you both the very best of luck and a speedy approval.
