Does PD affect CR1 interviews? If so then mine is April 5, 2013.

Definitely because you cant jump the line. If someone has PD before you but CCD after you, he would be the first one to get scheduled. After this, if there are spots left, they give it to F2A in the same fashion.

Many people here will agree with this.

I had my medical today :) (and another step closer.)

I hope thats true, but based on what I saw in the spreadsheet I should have been assigned an interview right after my CC. But oh well. There's no point in complaining now. We'll just have to wait it out.

So anyone else waiting to be scheduled in Mumbai want to donate 30 mins of their life to be on hold to give the NVC a call and see what they have to say about scheduling???

1/29/14 - NVC assigned case number

2/10/14 - DS-261 was filled out and AOS was paid

It happened!!!!!

My visa status shows as ISSUED on the CEAC website!!! Wohoooo!!

I am such a happy bunny right now.

Hoping I will get my visa in time for 17th now :)

My wife's OFC appointment is tomorrow morning. I am wondering if you can respond to the following. As you can see she is little stressed out (and so am I) :)

Is she allowed to take in her cell phone and her purse to this appointment? Because then she can go to work directly from there.

Hi Collie,

As far as I'm aware you cannot go to the embassy to collect the Passports, so they definitely do not need to fly back to the UK! In fact you need to make sure they have registered on the web site, Link here: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv , and choose your return method - as BOS_LHR stated you can collect from the nearest DX Secure depot (They have one at Belfast Airport) or have it delivered to a private or business address! They need to print out the confirmation form and add it to the package they take to the embassy as it is required when your parents are called to the window for the first time - which is ID and Document checking phase.

Hope this clarifies the process a little.

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)

Cell fone definitely No.

Purse it depends. They check whats in there and leave you in.

I am sure they have facility to leave it with security and collect it while going back.

Hi Collie,

Now that is a very good question!! I have had a quick look at Ryanair's policy - as I was actually checking in on-line for a flight to Spain as I got your reply and their policy is Passport or National ID only!! As per this from their T&C's of Carriage below:

THE ONLY FORMS OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS ACCEPTED ON RYANAIR FLIGHTS ARE:

  • A valid passport
  • A valid National Identity Card issued by the government of a European Economic Area (EEA) country. (Only the following EEA countries currentlyissue National Identity Cards acceptable for carriage on Ryanair flights: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France*, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden (not accepted on non Schengen flights), Switzerland). *The validity of French National ID cards (issued for adults) has been extended from 10 years to 15 years.

Who are they planning to fly with? It may be that they may have a case to ask for issue the same day!! There was a couple recently that were asked to come back later that day to collect their passports as they needed to get their dog on a flight to the US that month!!

Maybe there are others on this site that have been through the same senario who may have a solution.

I'll keep looking too.

Hi again,

Just done a couple more checks on other airlines and found the following airlines accept Photo Driving Licences as valid ID Documentation - British Airways and Easy-Jet. I think you should contact the airlines direct to get their policy - just to be 100 % sure!!

Anyone know: How long does it take to get the 2-year green card in the mail after POE? I mean...we do actually get a physical card in the mail, is this correct?

Then within 90 days of the expiry of the 2-year card, we file the I-751 form.

I think we're so intoxicated with actually GETTING him here that we sort of forgot what happens next....LOL

Just received a letter from NVC in the mail today.

"The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry concerning the immigrant visa petition [Case Number] filed by [Petitioner Name] on behalf of [beneficiary Name]. The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) does not allow derivative status to family members of immediate relatives. IR1, CR1, CR2, IR2, and IR5 classifications are immediate relative visa categories. That means a spouse, unmarried child under the age of 21 and a parent of a U.S. citizen require their own individual petition in order to immigrate to the U.S."

Anyone receive this letter? My guess is it's because our son was listed in the DS-260. He's already a U.S. citizen, so obviously no petition was needed. Either way, I'll call tonight or tomorrow to ask why this letter is sent.

Folks,

Please update me what are the documents that one need to carry to the interview. I understand its all the packet IV documents but then many ppl say that we need to carry copy of i130, then tax papers, AOS etc.

Why do we need to carry all this stuff, when NVC will already ship the same to embassy?

Also there is no change in tax transcripts for my joint sponsor as well as my spouse, so do i need to ask my spouse to send me the originals to take it to the interview?

Also, what all do we need to carry for OFC (other than P4, passport)?

For the London folks: is there an option for the passport to be mailed rather than have to pick it up in London?

I think that another flight to London would give my poor parents financial heart failure!
