So everyone is complaining that this thread is so quiet today so I thought I would make some noise..

FINALLY.... they accepted my corrected AOS and removed the Police certificate requirement. Now all I am waiting for is the supervisor to clear the birth cert.

I was told by the supervisor to call back Wednesday night... so now I wait... and for extra insurance.... a certified copy of the birth cert will be delivered tomorrow morning.

I'm so close I can taste it..

So how's that for some noise??????

I'm trying not to call NVC on Mondays unless I really have to.

my call wasn't too bad tonight. 35 minutes including the 5 or 6 minutes I actually talked to someone. I guess it depends.

With Indian International driving licence can we drive car in California and how many months it is valid?

OK, that is a PAY extra website in post #3, and I would avoid it.

The International Driving Permit program just translates an official Drivers License to multiple languages. If you are coming to America, and your Driver's License is issued in English, there is no need for it. Just show your Driver's License. If you have a two part license, make sure and bring both your Photo ID part, and the Paper part, which has more detail.

HSJ mentions the California Resident Rules, which are different.

But I can't find the 90 day rule...

it better be..... I haven't been sleeping lately... I am old but I'm not trying to look like it ! This is just ridiculous.

My husband went to the doctor this morning, he has the flu... Funny that he just got the flu shot for immigration . . They gave him an injection and some antibiotics.... I didn't think antibiotics were given for the flu, but maybe I'm wrong... or maybe just in Costa Rica.

I'm a Respiratory Therapist and no your not supposed to give antibiotics for the flu it's not bacterial but viral so it wont touch it unless the person

has a secondary infection due to the flu then it's indicated.

well, that is what I thought. He said they gave him a shot in his butt and gave him antibiotic pills. He has a fever and body aches. Even I know that antibiotics won't work.... but in Costa Rica they still think you will catch a cold if you have wet hair.

You should have asked for it while you were on the phone.. Some operators don't like to give it to you. If you get a big fat NO, then call back.

Why would they NOT like to give a number we need? ####### is up with these people, someone needs to know what is going on here and have it fixed. Ok I'm just dreaming here but it's free.

Praying and wishing more fervently than ever for us to receive an interview date soon. Everytime I look at my son I'm reminded of how much of his life my husband is missing out on because we're not together. I cannot stand another moment of this separation.

It is somewhat true actually.

If you are wet you are more susceptible to get cold (temperature wise) because your body's immune system weakens a little bit or things like your nose could try up. So while you don't magically get sick your defenses being done can make it easier to get a cold if you happen to touch or be near a sick person.

Also along with cold temperature the body can react with things like throat closing up or lymphatic system basically going defensive mode which can give you cold like symptoms that only last for a day.

They probably gave him antibiotics because most doctors in third world countries tend to just give antibiotics so if the disease does happen to be from a bacteria it would hopefully die and if its a virus then no bad really comes from it.

So please don't just flat out attack Mexico

Anyway came here to say that USPS Priority is awesome from NVC packages. Pretty much takes defacto 2 days to deliver to NVC (I shipped wed, arrived fri 11am, and 2nd packaged I shipped fri and arrived mon). trackings pretty good to about it,

its 5.60 per package and so far had never had issues with usps losing something and i guess if they did they would give me like 50 dollars, not that i want that since imagine if they lost a PCC, but still I guess it's a warranty.

express takes 1 day less and unless you do fedex overnight I dont really see a need to use those unless it's for a checklist and you are in a borderline where you could get a cc right before interviews are scheduled, but anyway just posting for everyone's benefit. Just plz dont use 49cent reg mail or let lawyers do that.

Hello everyone, I just talked to Rick(very nice guy) and he confirmed to me that is not a good idea to do EP, its taking longer than snail mail. He said that is taking about a month to receive a confirmation email from them and it could take another month to review the packages. He also mentioned the volume of emails they have is enormous and they are backlogged . Whoever wants to do EP save yourself and don't make the same mistake as I did. I hope this helps! I am sad for all of us that went this root.

Whooo... Congrats girl! So question, how long did it take from you sending your revised AOS to them accepting it? My paralegal made the same mistake as yours...ugh.
