Terrible commute home. It's pouring, our car is a POS and a window doesn't close all the way, and while you think the rain would be the worst part- it's not. The worst part is a truck splashing a bunch of filthy street water on you through the cracked window. There was also: an exploded truck on the highway, a broken down truck on the highway, a truck in a crash on the highway, and a truck completely blocking a street. My normal 20 minute commute took an hour. And I was wet with street water.

I need to get out of this freaking country!!!!! I need my CASE COMPLETE!!

If I were you I'd sort it out with the embassy when your file gets there. The only issue I see with that is making sure they have the right address for delivering your visa, plus if you call them to sort this out you can also take advantage and try to ask for an earlier date, although July 2 is pretty good.

PS: If I remember, I will ask about the evening shifts when I call NVC later tonight. The key part being if I remember. lol

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

You will have to call them to find out. It usually takes anywhere from a few business days to about 3 weeks, more or less. :)

I really encourage you to read the NVC Wiki that is located in the first post of this forum. It will give you lots of knowledge about the rest of this process, including the answer to this question.

I feel your pain. I know the rain in Costa Rica. My husband sent me a message saying it was pouring in the Mountains. When it rains, you can't even hear the TV or talk on the phone. The rain comes down like a typhoon. Please call tonight. I have a good feeling SOMETHING GOOD is waiting for you !!

I just got off the phone with Jenny at NVC. I have to say that she is one of the nicest operators I have talked to there.

Some good news, my IV documents were reviewed and accepted on April 28. Unfortunately I received a checklist for my AOS documents. My reply to the checklist was scanned in on May 6. I asked good ole Jenny if she had any estimate of when my AOS would be reviewed and she said "They are currently working on May 6 and some stragglers from May 5. You should call back after 9:30pm. You might have case complete tonight."

She also gave me the standard 30 business days spew.

THAT is some handy information!!

Hi everyone,

Just got off with our second phone call with NVC. Unfortunately we have a checklist for our AOS. We used the I-864-EZ.

First call:

Done by my husband.

He talked to Abby.

She said that we pretty much messed up our form, we got 13 wrong (which my husband said it can't be because that's his social security number).

Secondly, she told him that He answered part 19 wrong. I think I read somewhere about putting the total income instead of the adjusted income here. I'm just not sure who said it, I'm trying to look for it but I just can't find it.

Lastly she said there is something expired in our documents and just to wait for the email and before my husband can ask here anymore question, she hung up.

Second call:

I called.

Talked to Max.

He told that yes, 19 is wrong and it doesn't match the supporting documents.

I asked about if there anything else and he said no. That's the only thing. I told him about the first call and he said nothing is expired or anything.

He told me I can send the revised form as soon as I can with the original coversheet and unfortunately have to wait another 30 days to have it reviewed.

Please does anyone remember or has the same checklist as us?

oy...now my AOS fee is showing as 'n/a' online, after I paid for it about 20 days ago. Does any one know why this is? is this some sort of good news?

Don't touch !! call and ask before reacting !! I don't want to see you set yourself back a month.. You can get proof from the bank that you already paid and funds were withdrawn.
