That makes sense. How long does it take to get the DS261 from when you ge the case number? And then how long from DS261 to when the IV fees are generated?

You can have a peek at people's signatures to see what the time frame was. Have a peek at mine below to see what my wait times were. :P

I received my NVC number today but the IIN is still not available. How long does it generally to take receive the IIN??

Usually the same or next day for most people. Call again :D

Good morning!

Don't think I will be calling today. Doubt they'll have my case complete yet. Yesterday when I spoke to Yvette she said that they didn't have any specific time for when they would start scheduling July interviews.

Hoping to hear good news from the rest of you today. There are some of you that I am stalking because we have the same dates or close to the same dates that we sent packages in.

no no no CALL TODAY! Right now pick up the phone. NVC has been going very predictably and today they are on May 5th scanned dates. So you should be able to know if your checklist is approved. The same goes for anyone who had items scanned May 5th.

as for Lovetico, you probably wont get response till monday if they follow pattern.

by the way when I mean by dates I mean you have to call at the end of the day at least after 7pm eastern time so for example lovetico would have to call at the end of monday not in the morning.

I've been checking so far and it seems they have been following this pattern, so perhaps people can report back to see if I am somewhat right but so far I've been stalking tons of people's signature timelines and it seems right.

By the way just to confrim, when you get a checklist for IV documents "Your DS260 has been received and we are waiting for your documents..." Does it mean the AOS has been accepted or just that DS260 has been accepted. I understand it to be the AOS being accepted but can't remember. Regardless I know It is a false checklist but want to know which of those 2 things it means,

Edited by Snipe

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

My online banking has an area for pending transactions to show charges in process. Does your bank have something similar? Can you call them to make sure the transaction is pending?

I called the bank already and they said they see nothing of the sort. So confusing but it would help if I knew that it would not change to paid unless they know they received payment on their end. Does it automatically change to paid after 3-4 days or does it only do it if for sure the money is received. This is why I thought someone had to have something similar happen. You can see in the timeline it showed paid since the 22nd.

FYI: Our package was received on May 7. Just called and NO news yet! It took me almost 40 minutes to find out... Very busy today!

The day they physically receive your packet/response/email doesn't mean a hill of beans. The counter starts when they SCAN the packet/response/email into the system.

So frustrating. My attorney sent an email on May 7. My checklist response physically reached NVC on May 8.

My file says something was scanned on May 9 and another something was scanned on May 14. Don't know which is which, but my "days" have to start from the 9th, not the 7th.

My attorney and I essentially sent the same email/checklist response. I'm not sure if I've screwed myself and they start counting from the LAST day something was scanned. Either of our responses will deal with the blasted unnecessary/unavailable police certificate.

The thread is kind of dead today.

What's going on friends? Nobody is calling NVC for updates?

We are all too depressed to call, etrangais. I have gotten so upset when I have called 2 and 3 weeks ago - I've just given up. When someone indicates that they are looking at mail from May 8/9, maybe I'll call.

if your lawyer sent an email, they consider that mail. It gets a bar code so it ends up in your file. The same thing just happened to me. It took a few phone calls to figure it out. Waldo is the one who explained it to me. The night supervisor was useless. I know I only sent the birth cert and it was scanned May 8th. That is the last thing I sent. I was freaking out thinking I had to wait for the last piece of mail to b processed. Don't worry. Once they open your mail from the 9th, it should be fine

Guys, I need help, and I don't know who to ask for this.

I gave my lawyer my checking information, account # and routing#.. she paid the AOS fee on the 20th and it showed paid on the 22nd. The money was never removed from my account. I read on here that for everyone the money is removed from the account and AFTER that it shows as paid. So I called her and she said that she did use my account to pay for it. Confused, I called the NVC and I got a very very rude women on the phone. She told me even if it shows as paid, if the money wasn't taken out of the account then it's not paid. Has anyone heard or had any experience with this happening. Does it ever take longer than usual for the money to be taken out, and how can it show paid if the money was not received?

Jay,

Tell your lawyer that you need the fee receipt for the payment, and double-check the ABA# and your account number. If they are correct, then call your bank and ask them if an ACH (Automated Clearing House) transaction was presented on the date your lawyer says it was paid (or day+1 or day+2) and rejected for some reason.

If your attorney cannot produce the fee receipt, then there is something really wrong.

Sukie

Sorry, I think you interpreted my tone very different then how I had intended. I'm not trying to be hostile or aggressive towards you. I apologize if that is how it's came off. I'm just being straightforward as possible. Sorry if I offended you. The lawyer did insist I let her pay, so I didn't think twice as this is something they must do very often. I felt I was fully capable of doing it but alas I didn't.

NO NEED TO BE B!TCHY. I asked a simple question. Nowhere do you post that your lawyer is a personal friend so how was I supposed to know that? I paid my own fees even though I have a lawyer. What is the point of paying the lawyer to pay my fees when I can just pay them myself??? Same frigging argument.. I was just wondering why you would give that control to your lawyer when you can do it yourself... plain and simple

And get over yourself and call your bank. Every bank processes debits differently. Some banks take a day others take a week. Call them and ask what their policies are. If you didn't know about VJ, you would just assume the fees were paid .. Its not a big deal... its part of this waiting game. Not everything is the fault of the NVC. I was trying to help you... I won't make that mistake again
