Guys, I need help, and I don't know who to ask for this.

I gave my lawyer my checking information, account # and routing#.. she paid the AOS fee on the 20th and it showed paid on the 22nd. The money was never removed from my account. I read on here that for everyone the money is removed from the account and AFTER that it shows as paid. So I called her and she said that she did use my account to pay for it. Confused, I called the NVC and I got a very very rude women on the phone. She told me even if it shows as paid, if the money wasn't taken out of the account then it's not paid. Has anyone heard or had any experience with this happening. Does it ever take longer than usual for the money to be taken out, and how can it show paid if the money was not received?

Can someone please help or advice me, I asked this question before but it was left unanswered. :(

I just called NVC and asked them if applying for financial aid for college would affect my husband's visa process the lady on the phone said "Oh I don't know." I know NVC reviews the affidavit of support I-864 and so does the consulate overseas. Who should I call now, either NVC again and talk to someone else or consulate overseas. I asked this same question on this lawyer website they all said it was ok if I met the requirements of the I-864, which our income is a little above the poverty line. I asked fafsa (financial aid) they also said they don't know, its not a problem with them. I need a approval from the visa agency. I already sent the aos package and it didn't mention any financial aid for college. Would they (NVC or US consulate overseas) happen to know if I applied? Like look up some US government database. I really need to make sure about everything because I'm tired of waiting for this loooong process.

From the reading I have been doing and from my life its ok to get now but when your hubby/wife is here you can not ask nothing from the government,

From the reading I have been doing and from my life its ok to get now but when your hubby/wife is here you can not ask nothing from the government,

this statement is false. Student Aid is not welfare.

I know several green card holders who applied for student grants and loans and were granted without issue. One of them still goes to college.

When you do an electronic check, it takes a few days to actually come out of your account. It took mine about 4 or so days...so you have to be patient..portal will show processing for a few days more.

why didn't you just pay the fees yourself if you ended up giving the lawyer your personal information? I paid my own fees.. look at my timeline

You should read the first page of this topic or Saylin's wiki. Its written there. Don't panic then there's a good chance the IV bill is being invoiced. Read Saylin's wiki here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

right now my daughter gets aid for college but we have to have a sponsor for my husband if all this goes by income and my daughter is still with me I don't think we will get help.. the reading on one hand is saying you can't get help for nothing they want your income to be so you ask for nothing. this whole thing is stressful and many things are not as clear as it should be. when we need to ask them for help by calling they should give us answer and not the run around

That doesn't answer any of my questions. Everything in your timeline is exactly the point I'm making: That I'm aware fee's are deducted and then it shows paid. Mine did not have my fee's deducted, yet it still changed from "In Process" to "Paid".

To answer your question about the lawyer, she is a personal friend of mine, and me giving her personal information is no different than paying her with a check for the services she did. What difference does it make if I send her an account and routing number, or write her a check for doing the paperwork. All the information is there regardless.

Now, if anyone is aware of this happening, where it will say PAID but the account has not been DEBITED, it would an immense help to know what I can do.

My online banking has an area for pending transactions to show charges in process. Does your bank have something similar? Can you call them to make sure the transaction is pending?
