Should I be happy??????????????????

Case complete was on the 23rd. Just found out today!!

[...]

Congratulations!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

how long nvc takes to complete the case? in a condition where everything is ready all documents police clearance and everything ?

Things may definitely change by the time you get your NOA2, so predictions may be off a little. Have a look at my signature to see how long it took me to get through NVC, and then study other people's signatures or timelines as well. :luv:

Hello all,

Great news -- the NVC is no longer requseting the Greek PCC that I got a checklist for. Apparently the supervisor was able to pull my file and list it as "unavailable."

Now here's where things get mysterious: very recently the Greece Country Reciprocity page showed that the PCC was available for non-Greek applicants applying from abroad. But when I looked again today, it doesn't say anything about non-Greek applicants. I even have the old version saved in an email, but I have no idea when it changed. I knew from the beginning that this process was going to be like bureaucratic Kafka hell, but this is just too weird. Disappearing requirements...

They did insist that I send court records for my husband, but that item will be very easy to take care of as he's never been in court. I'm planning on sending a letter today.

Can't wait to hear everyone's good news this week!

nice! so it looks like your supervisor review only took 4 days?

Hello,

Were you denied while in the process? I was just telling my husband to try to get turist visa.

And thanks for all the info that's been posted here!

First denial I was naive (hadn't found VJ at that point) and thought I could return to the US (after getting married on my last visit) and apply for a green card once I got in (like AOS). But alas, I was informed that was illegal. So, after some paperwork and explanation of what I had to do, I was escorted to the front of the airport.

Within a few days of sending all the required paperwork for the I-130 to my husband who then sent the I-130 package, I found that it is completely legal to visit the US while going through the process. So, within 2 weeks from the first denial (looking back, I should have waited much longer than just 2 weeks), I tried again, this time at a land border as it was cheaper to fly domestic than international. So, my dad drove me through the border. I was obviously pulled into secondary where I was questioned by an @$$ of an officer who was clearly on a power trip and didn't know as much as the process as he thought he did. Anyways, after much questioning, he denied me entry, stating I'd only be allowed in with the immigrant visa and that if I tried again at a different port with a "different story" (??), that I could get banned. So, not wanting to taking anymore chances, I stopped making attempts and my husband came up to visit me instead.

Sounds a little like our story... We went to Mexico after got married....

And then the whole hell broke loose....:)

But the officer said that we had to tell them that's he's just visiting wife . Instead of proudly waiving mariage certificates and telling us adress .. If I only knew it then...,

But I was thinking if he's going to show approved I130 an I 129 maybe it would give a chance

AOS/IV package entered into system

How do you guys know that, can you check the status online or call NVC?

I have submitted AOS/IV package and USPS recipet shows they are delivered today. I have also filled in DS260. I would like to know when they entered into their system.

Also why does it take so long to schedule interview? They say because embassy is busy however I know if someone applies to visit visa at Islamabad embassy they give interview date in merely 3 days but why so long for our spouses? I have already been in extended review for ever at I-130 and I don't want to be in another black hole again!

Help me!

Should I be happy??????????????????

Case complete was on the 23rd. Just found out today!!

That's good no? Amazing even right??

My happiness is kind of confused because it's the 27th. and no email with no further information such as scheduling medical and or interview has arrived...

The super awesome lady on the phone said she has no clue when the email will arrive and told me I can do nothing but sit and wait....

Any clue how long normally an email takes to arrive?

It's like I wanna scream so loud but then it doesn't feel like it's complete sigh* I weird probably but this means no more checklists and such right?

Congrats

If everything doesn't fit in one email you can break it up into multiple emails. From the Department of State for Visa Processing website: "

Do you have suggest setting for docs scanning?

My wife sent me the files with 300DPI, and it seems too large for creating PDF files.

And I am trying to resize them, but worry about what's the most correct size setting.

Thanks.

Give them until Thursday and friday and then call to check.

If they were entered/scanned into the system, teh operator should be able to tell you they have mail in the system for your file.

Good luck

Is it possible that I'm interpreting things wrong? This is what the Colombia Country Reciprocity page says (he doesn't have either):

ETA: police records are no problem for us, but this is:

Military Records

Unavailable. Colombian citizens over 18 years of age should have their Military Carnets (Libreta Militar), First Class for those who have served with the armed forces and Second Class for those who have obtained an exception.

Hello Abby&Mario,

It COULD be open to interpretation. I say this because it is known that NVC workers do not read their own guidelines.

The general DOS page listing the civil docs needed by NVC, which is the page before the country specific table, says the following:

If you served in the military forces of any country, you must obtain a copy of your military record.

Note: Military records from certain countries are unavailable. More specific information is available from the NVC, the nearest U.S. immigrant visa processing post, or online at Reciprocity by Country.

So the way I interpret this is that the above statement says to obtain military records only if you served. Once you go to the country specific list for Colombia, it tells you that an actual record is not available, so you should use your Libreta Militar as proof of your service. No service, no need to provide.

If you want to be 100% sure, you might have to call NVC, call the US embassy in Colombia (if possible) and also check with other VJ members in the Colombia portal to see what they did.

Good luck!
