CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :energy: :energy:

I called at 1140 EST thinking there's no way I'll get through before they drop all calls, but at 1208 (gosh I forget who she was now  ), the rep answered!! :D And they 'FOUND' my police certificate upon review by the supervisor, probably that 'piece of mail still listed in the mailroom' - which I assume fell off the package when they opened it to scan the barcoded sheet...

I asked her if they could possibly still be doing June interviews and she wasn't sure, but that's better than a definite 'NO'

Anyways, I'm so happy!! My heart is pounding, and I wish this feeling very soon for each of you!!! :luv:

Congratulations!! :dancing::dancing:

I'll ask my question here as few prowl the other threads...

If you're put into administrative processing once, are you immune from going through it again?

In 2009 I received clearance for a B1/B2 visa after a 13-month administrative process. Have any of us heard of unlucky souls going through it multiple times?

Being in AP previously doesn't exclude you from AP in the future. It's a case-by-case basis.

But, hopefully you won't have to go through it again, or not as long anyways.

USPS delivered my package yesterday so i'm not going crazy at this moment. i'm just curious how long does it take to review checklists responses.

i'm a lil bit in a hurry cause of my huband's employment situation. he's an english teacher here in Poland, school year is almost done and it doesn't make sense to stay here and waste time.

i praying for early july interview.

Same here, trying to figure out if it can take less time to review checklists. But I looked again at Lakehouse's signature and he asked for a supervisor review because it was their mistake, so that is why it took less than a week. They refused to initiate a supervisor review for us, stating it takes 30 days and that it is faster to send again the passport copy *sigh*. Well I think 2 weeks and 3 days is the actual timeframe for them to review any package or checklist response. I think you will get a early or mid-July interview, don't stress too much, not being able to do anything to speed up the process is the worse. The employment situation sucks, but your husband will be soon with you, probably in less than 2 months!

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.

Hi Saylin, can the AP be totally random? Or is there always a specific - perhaps unfounded - reason? And what kind of reasons can it be? I tried to look it up but people don't seem to know (or to tell) why it happened to them. Thanks for your answer in advance and no worries if you don't have time to answer, I am being curious (and a bit worried it is totally random!) Edited by MsGoyave

Most AP takes place in MENA countries. Typically the reason is to do background checks (to make sure they're not a terrorist for example). The second big reason is the CO doesn't believe the marriage is real and/or there's red flags. Another reason is because there's a missing document that's needed (common across ALL countries, not just MENA).

I'm not sure if it's ever "random" per se, since the CO can do pretty much whatever they want (sadly).

It's been 2 weeks and a day for me and they haven't reviewed my checklist yet.

And I too am hoping for an early July interview or at this point any interview date because I am a school teacher and I need to know if it's worth waiting for him here or if I have to fly to Portugal because of his interview date being much later in July.

Decisions, decisions.... That we can't make yet lol.

Wow that is awesome!! did they ask him for anything, like reasons???

No. They didn't really ask for a reason. Although he did express the fact that we have been waiting 13 months to be together. The embassy isn't like USCIS or NVC. They didn't seem to care. If they have an open spot they will give it to you. Also his country is small and not so busy. Also we have dealt with them several times in the past and the people who work there are pretty nice. We had to got there before we got married to pay a fee and sign a paper and they were very nice and congratulated us on our marriage. :)

Well I called a week ago and they told me they have received the checklist, I will wait another week before calling again (it's stressing me too much to call often). But if Lakehouse had case complete before the 2 weeks mark without asking for a supervisor review, then I will definitely call again this week! :-) What about your case?

She asked for a supervisor review and they found the police cert during that review. Checklists are taking 2-3 weeks to review. She was lucky they found it and didn't have to wait for the checklist to be reviewed.

My husband and I lived in France and got married there, but he's Algerian. We thought about going through the US immigration process in France, but decided to move to Algeria because my student visa for France was going to expire. I even visited the US consulate in Paris while getting marriage documents and was able to ask a few questions. From what I gathered, the proof of relationship will probably be more important to your case than questions they might have about your Tunisian nationality. After all, a French consulate won't work like a MENA one. If they were to require AP, it might be for a missing document or something like that. That's just my take on it. And of course it depends on the case, the consular officer, etc...

:luv:

Oh yay!!! So happy for you! Congrats! I suppose that's why Saylin recommends putting your case # on everything! ( you did put your case # on all docs right? ). Lol!!!! Enjoy your day!!!! :)

She asked for a supervisor review and they found the police cert during that review. Checklists are taking 2-3 weeks to review. She was lucky they found it and didn't have to wait for the checklist to be reviewed.

Good Luck LoveMyTico!
