Ok so I'm having a mini-meltdown. My lawyer got 1-day priority mail with USPS from stamps.com and put the AOS/IV in the mail yesterday. I went to track it today and it doesn't even say it was brought to our local post office. I live north of Boston so I feel like the package should be almost there by this time.

I've never found their tracking very reliable, just shows arrived sometimes.. It probably is fine, check again on Monday.. Then call NVC on Wed it should be ' received ' by that point. Good luck! Edited May 16, 2014 by smoddydana

Hello NVC May filers. I just got NoA2 yesterday after 22 days! (Filing from overseas) So, I am going to be filing NVC stuff this month. I have already begun gathering most of the documents and filling out as much of the forms that I can. This thread is pretty long so I don’t know if I will have time to read the whole thing (or at least not right away) but I will try to keep up to date on what is going on. I may also have some questions later on so thanks in advance for any help that any of you can provide.

Also, I know there is some kind of spreadsheet that has been made keeping track of people’s cases. You have my permission to add my information to it if you would like.

Congratulations on your NOA2. The link to the Spreadsheet is in the first post of this thread. Also, there is a link to the form that populates your info to the Spreadsheet (manually done by Ms. Saylin).

NVC is quite late in acknowledging their receipt of your package. If your UPS/USPS/FedEx tracking shows delivered that means it is delivered. You would want to know if it is reviewed and accepted. But that will take probably about 2 weeks from the delivery, if not more. If you did not get a Checklist in the mean time, your package is most likely accepted.

Got my case number and IIN April 12, but now when i log in is shows that my case is in the proccess of temination and that i cannot make online payments, is that a website error or is that something i should be worried about? And also how long after case number assigned can i start making my payments? Would appreciate some answers.

Hi everyone, not sure if this is already common knowledge or not, so apologies if I'm sharing something you already know....

I have a job lined up for when I arrive in the states, and I thought I'd have to wait 3 weeks for the SSN to be sent out before I could work, however I've discovered that you can work as soon as you clear customs and immigration as your temporary greencard acts as employment authorization. Here's the official info from Social Security if anyone is interested:

It does seem to be more aimed at temporary workers, but it also applies IR1/CR1 green card holders.

USPS 1 day priority should reach sometime today. If for some reason they miss today, they will try to deliver on Saturday but of course NVC will be closed (exactly this happened to me). So they will go back and deliver on Monday morning. I think your tracking should become available later today..

Just a quick question, is too early for a case complete next week if the NVC has received the last form which is the PCC from india? It was scanned and being reviewed on May 12. It was received the friday before, May 9. Looking forward to reading replies. Also from the way it looks, we will be getting a July interview, is there a way to ask for an earlier interview date from the London embassy. I ask because we are expecting our first child on June 12.... thanks for the quick responses

Also will the london embassy lose our medical results that were sent by the knightsbridge doctors even though the embassy does not have the file?

Thanks for sharing this info. I know it will be helpful when my wife arrives. But then again, she will need to pass her driving test first. Public transport is horrible in Los Angeles.

It normally takes about two weeks to review. If it was received on May 12, I would assume it would be two weeks from that date. But you could be lucky and get it next week!

Hmm, definitely looks real to me. I'd suggest calling up again and asking. Hopefully you get someone more helpful this time around. If they aren't, ask to speak with a supervisor instead and explain the situation.

So, I called back, they want me to send in my Nikah Nama Papers too. My muslim marriage contract papers, not just my marriage certificate. Gosh, make things more complicated won't you. My husband told me to send them before...I should have listened..hes gonna be like..told you so..haha
