Hey folks! It is the same for your situations. If your spouse is the petitioner (US citizen), then they are not "immigrating" to the US with you. They are just physically traveling with you, so "No" for both questions.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info, but what about the address? My USC wife is living here in Canada right now so do we enter her Canadian address? We have documentation such as a job offer, car insurance quote, and notarized letter from her parents we'll be living with them to show re-establishment of US domicile to go along with her I-864.

I know my wife is a nice woman. what she does not want to believe is that people who tell her all the bs are actually jealous of her.

10 months so far after we got married. Lots of people don't want to see her move to the USA. I know you know exactly what I mean!!!

Soon enough in chaa Allah, I'll ge for the interview and then get her back with me.

Good luck to you brother with your journey

Incha'allah brother

Aww... I loved this. I too have been super busy, to the point where I am exhausted (which I think is also one of the reasons why my emotions are all over the place). As soon as I got back from our honeymoon I started looking for a home. Never thought I would buy a home by myself and renovate it from top to bottom by myself. I feel a bit like superwoman lol, but honestly I wish he were here because I am over having to make certain decisions. I just want to decorate instead of having to go buy Sheetrock lol.

I am hoping you have good news next week.... And me too.

What happens if you don't sell your house by the time you have your interview?

Well, the Calgary housing market is hot right now, and like Austin stated below, I'm likely to get multiple offers and sell above the asking price... so I'm not worried. I've actually had several realtors /clients come by even though I'm not even listed yet lol! There are some coming any moment now, and I have to take the dogs and go for a walk as soon as they arrive.

And there is still likely a month and a half to sell... that's IF I get a late June interview as I soooo hope.

If it didn't sell, I'd have to wait until it did. Otherwise if I move to the US and sell it later, I pay big-time in taxes.

So I'm hoping it all goes well!

We sold our townhouse last weekend! I was going to wait until I have the visa, but I decided to sell it now because spring is the best time to sell houses. I'm glad we listed our townhouse in May because we got multiple offers and sold our townhouse above the asking price! :wow:

If my visa application got denied for some unforeseeable reason, we'd move to Toronto from Vancouver (my partner has dual American and Canadian citizenship). So it was time for us to sell the property anyway. :star:

I'm hoping for the same success with the sale are you, congrats on your fortune :)

My husbands ears would bleed too if it rained for 9 months. I need sunshine! But I agree that being apart although is very sad, it also makes us appreciate our spouses on a whole other level.

"Why does it rain so much? Why are your roads so narrow and twisty? Why are your cars so small? Why does everyone drive so fast? When will it stop raining? Why are your houses so small? Why do you have washing machines in the kitchen? Why is everything so expensive? Why is the food so crappy? Will it EVER stop raining!!!"

It didn't.

Finally, after 9 months, she could stand it no longer and returned to the US. In a sense it was a relief - my ears stopped bleeding almost immediately :)

Rained for 9 months!? :wow:

I live in a rainy city (Vancouver, Canada), but it rains ONLY for 5-6 months, not 9 months!

I'm excited about moving to Seattle (well, another rainy city), but Seattle is a little warmer and has 14 fewer rainy days/year in average compared to Vancouver!

I feel like I'm moving to a tropical island!

I would put the house that you currently have and if it changes, the immigrant can update it at interview or POE.

I'm doing the opposite- tropical paradise to USA!

We will either be going to my home state of NC or up to PA where my esposo might have a really great job opportunity. Gotta see how things turn out.

(if I ever get a case complete..... :sleepy: )

So, since DS-260 didn't ask any for employment or education info, should I be prepared to answer questions regarding those during the interview?

If so, how far back do I have to have info on my jobs? And what kind of stuff should I know about the universities I've attended? I have a few degrees and have been involved with several different projects, so this isn't something I can remember off the top of my head if they ask.

IR1 took 520 days....

I doubt it.

Ours only asked for current and planned US occupation. No past work or education. My thought is if they wanted that info they would ask for it in the DS-260.

I called nvc yesterday and they said they sent email to my attorney May 7 regarding the fees and I asked for case number and they gave me the case number. Then I called the attorney and told him and he said he hadn't received any email so I gave him the case number and he asked for the invoice number and said I didn't get that from them. WHY didn't they give me the invoice when they gave me the case#when I asked for it? Totally spaced it and now I have to wait for Monday to call nvc again ugh....

My esposo did have to fill out past work and school information on the online form. They only asked for addresses, years/dates attended, and degrees awarded. So I would guess they wouldn't be any more specific than that in the interview.
