it states to name each file with the case number and applicants name and document. If there are 2 I864's, are they both named the same? Or have other people identified the multiple 864's with the person who filled them out as well.

And then something similar for each year of tax transcripts x3, paystubs, employment letters and proof of US citizenship associated with each of the 3 people providing an AOS? (aware spouse already provided proof in I-130 and won't need to again).

Saylin, were you referring to putting all 3 years of tax information (by one person) into one file when you said the following:

With NVC's new website design (early 2014), new instructions have emerged on how to send EP packages. Before, you'd combine all files into one and send that. The instructions have since changed though. Now, you attach each file individually. So, for example, for the AOS package email, you'd have a few files: cover letter, I-864 form, tax information, pay stub(s), and employment letter.Note: You'd still be sending just ONE email for the AOS package and ONE email for the IV package, but you'll have much more than just one attachment for each.Another note: You'll still be combining files for each document. What I mean is, for the I-864 attachment, there will be a few pages as the form itself is a few pages. The same thing will go for tax information (especially if you're sending in 3 years' worth).

And I just can't wrap my head around why the files are all named for the applicant and not the people filing... can you even have identically named files on the computer? ie

I have this mental image of an email to NVC with 3 AOS attachments, 9 tax transcript attachments, 2 US citizenship proof attachments, 3 paystub file attachments, 3 employment letter attachments, oh yes, and the cover letter attachment first! ...21 attachments??

Where am I confused? Or where am I correct?

And when I say 'petitioner', leave it as that (ie don't use the petitioner's name). Same thing for the joint sponsor. This would then show the difference between the two transcript files.

And yup, that's what I meant. So, for the tax transcript PDF file, it will be all the pages of all three years (or the most recent year if you're just sending that). You can probably separate them by year, if you wish (and just mention the year in the file name).

And yes, this new name filing and separation of files is ridiculous. It was much easier IMO when it was just one big file. But whatever, it's NVC

One for the petitioner and one for the joint sponsor? The one from my wife, the petitioner who is here in Canada with me would include documentation to prove re-establishing her USA domicile.

You can't resubmit the form to make edits. If it's something like an incorrect date for employment, they'll have no way to know that it's wrong and can't checklist you for it. I'd suggest bringing correct info to the interview just in case, but don't worry about,

Hi! Our IV package has been scanned on April 18th, isn't it odd that they haven't reviewed it yet?? (Please don't give me the "wait 30 days" too! ;-) )

And my AOS was scanned in on the 18th - it's been reviewed and accepted.

But I'm still waiting for my IV package to be reviewed (scanned in on the 24th). So if the IV reviewers haven't gotten to yours yet and you're 6 days before me, I guess I have at least another week of waiting

I'm betting you'll hear the good news very soon!!!

To my knowledge there's just physically no way to do it. You can go in and edit the form while you're saving progress, but once you hit that submit button, it's finalized. We never had an option on CEAC to go back and change information after the DS-260 was submitted. Hopefully someone who has submitted the IV app but not had case complete yet can chime in to confirm that's still the case.

Well, I'm not sure whether it matters, but do what you think will allow them to review your attachments with clarity.

(I ended up choosing not to do EP so didn't have to make those decisions after all )

How can you fix mistakes on DS260?, some dates on employment history... who can remember everything

We didn't include 10 years of employment. We only used his emplyment from 2009 to present. Our DS260 was accepted and I was told by NVC to provide the employment history during the interview. Don't worry !!

They are more worried about the crazy ridiculous questions they ask !!

There are no do-overs on that form. just print out your corrections and take them to the interview

yes )) i want to ask another thing, i used to study abroad, and i have foreigner permit for that period should i send it with my civil documents? also the visa, on the old passport i thougt it's smart idea to send them. what you guys think?

hello plz reply me, did beneficiary or petitioner received any instruction letter through postal mail after NVC case number assigned. plz tell me how long did it take to arrive if they sent you one after assigning you case number.

so, I swear I read somewhere that all documents NOT in english must be translated.

So my husband goes for his police certificate after the embassy receives our file. Per NVC a few minutes ago, the police certificate does not need to be translated because Spanish is the official language in Costa Rica. That makes it quicker for us . . and when I sent the new birth certificate, NVC told me I didn't need to get it translated. really?

Consistency would be such a bonus though

On a good note, they are still scheduling for June .. sounds good to me !!

I included a quick translation for each document in Spanish as a just-in-case, but it's not required. I translated them and put a signature at the bottom that I was fluent in both languages. I certainly wasn't going to pay the $40/page fee those official translators charge!!

Oh I hope we both get June interviews!!!!

My wife PCC denied as she did not change her maiden name in passport and has no husband name on passport.We were planning to change once she will be here .

So now she have to apply for new passport then and then only she can get pcc.

Will this effect our case ?

should we submit both old copy of passport and new one in iv package ?

Do we wait to fill up DS260 till we get new passport??????????

IMO, read Saylin's WIKI and only send what is required. You are already approved. NVC doesn't approve anything, they only process the Visa paperwork. You can take your extras to the interview and if they ask, you will be ready

You won't receive anything through postal mail. It is emailed about a week after you receive case number via phone. Call them and ask for the case number.
