In reference to my question above, did anyone else have the same verbiage on their IV Receipt that unless you're doing EP you have to send in the DS-230 instead of the DS-260? I'm guessing the receipt verbiage just was never updated and that what Saylin's guide says is the correct way to do things. Please let me know.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this, as it is part of the 'next steps' after being invoiced for the IV.

I think I'm going to have to call NVC, unless someone haa information.

The verbiage is old and outdated. EVERYONE fills out the online DS-260 now.

I got checklisted for a similar problem. I provided my resignation letter, but the reviewer was not satisfied. I had to send in a letter directly addressing the NVC about my work status. After that, I got checklisted for a police certificate that we do not require, but we got that cleared up through a supervisor. This saved us a 2-3 month delay. We got case complete earlier this week.

After the first checklist I called and told them the situation and they told me I had to address the work situation in a coverletter. Which I did with the first checklist. I sent in a very clear letter stating that I work in COSTA RICA and that the job will not continue, so therefore I didn't include proof of employment. I even said I was using assets in the coverletter, not current salary.

To the one who asked- yes I checked I was employed, but I put my annual income as $0. See it's all freaking complicated because I can't put "unemployed" because I've been filing taxes this whole time with my foreign income. How can I put unemployed if my tax returns say differently??

UN-FREAKING-BELIEVEABLE I almost think they are not reading your coverletter at all. They are just worried about the boxes you checked and the income you entered.. #######?? I feel really bad for you..
