Going to call on Friday to see if IV has been approved. AOS checklist went very quickly (finally), hoping for similar treatment with IV checklist.

Hi VJers!

I have a question regarding the mailing address required in DS-260.

I am the petitioner and the choice of agent. I want to receive any document mailed by NVC and therefore I opted to be the choice of agent in DS-261. Now if I report beneficiary's (my wife) address as the mailing address DS-260, what sort of documents will be mailed to her? Will NVC be mailing all document to her? Will the embassy mail all documents to her?

I am little confused as to what documents are mailed by the individual centers (i.e. NVC, Embassy) and from which form do they pick up the mailing address?

Does anyone know if the information submitted in DS-260 is compared against the information submitted in G-325A (submitted during I-130)? Both the forms ask for identical information such as past employment, addresses etc. Will the NVC or the embassy make a fuss if there are slight discrepancies in the two forms?

When i read that question i was also really confused. I read it like 10 times. I think if you answer yes then write may an explanation to why you answered yes and and state that she is a midwife and she will eventually practice in the usa and send that letter with your IV package.

btw. getting her credentials transferred from a foreign country to the USA for a nurse/midwife is a pain and an annoying process. Almost as frustrating as this process.

I really don't want to have to add more paperwork to the IV Package. We're honestly not even sure if she'll want to practice in the US. So it's all up in the air right now and we're leaning towards answering No because she probably wouldn't practice.

Yeah, I know about the pain it is after researching it. She wasn't too happy when I told her. It's so dumb....

Lol yeah I had 20 days in mind as well. Saved a week hopefully case number will be there in 3 weeks like its taking recently. Although the girl asked me to wait for 6 weeks.

so my husband feels bad. Last night he said he should have gotten a certified copy at the same time he got the Marriage certificate. Who knew the Original would be such a problem. People are starting to ask me at work why isn't my husband here yet.... Its starting to annoy me. I am so happy I am married but I am afraid to mention it because it requires so many explanations... I'm sad today..( more than usualy)

Saylin I have a question. Is it possible to get an expedite from NVC on the basis of job deadline? Basically my work requires me to be inside US before September 15th. If I don't then I m gonna waste on whole year because next application goes on 15th September next year. Does that qualify for an expedite? If I had just gotten approved one month before i would have reached in time

I just received an email about a checklist: reqeusting my wife's birth certificate and marriage certificate and AOS. Is this a "real" checklist or a "wait for an approval" checklist? how do I tell?

If the checklist asks for specific documents then it's probably not a false one. Like others said call first NVC to confirm. Good luck!

Don't worry. If you gave your email address to NVC, then all notifications and letters will come via email regardless of who was chosen as the "agent". Good luck!

I remember while driving my husband back to his apartment way back when we were only dating for about 3 months.. he just looked at me and said ... "I'm gonna marry you one day" his english was very broken but it was so cute. I will never forget that especially since I was so surprised he said it in english . My stupid response was " oh really?" what an idiot !!! LOL but here we are trying so hard to be together.

The NVC have the same requirements as the USCIS for an expedite. You can try. I kind of doubt it though.

Story of my life...

Every single day of my life I am asked the following questions, "So when is your husband coming? What do you mean you don't know when he is coming? When will you find out then?" I bought a home about 5 months ago so that I could renovate and everything would be ready for him when he arrived so now they follow up with , "So when will the house be ready? When will you move in?" and I don't have an answer to any of those because I am not moving in WITHOUT HIM but I still don't know WHEN HE IS COMING!!!

And then they have the nerve to say, "You seem so upset and irritated." Oh really? I wonder why...
