Thanks for the help. I'm really hoping for an interview before then because that's when our French temporary residency permits expire. After that we'll have to switch consulates and that will introduce another delay into the whole procedure.

You may want to consider trying for an expedite based on that reason (once you get a case number assigned). You can either try for it right away or once you have a case complete (or anywhere in between, really).

Got my CIS approval/NOA2 text last night. I am jumping on this train for the next phase.

Welcome!! Have you read post 1 of this thread yet??:)

A record 3 minutes on hold and I spoke to Lisa who gave me our case number [...]

Congrats!!

I called this morning at 5:05 EST and was on hold for 25 minutes lol, and I got ARTHUR!!!!! Or should I say 'Ahthur' which is how it sounded when he said it :P

He was actually quite straight forward and gave the standard answers, but wasn't rude... although I agree with whomever had issues understanding his speech awhile back because he does have a strong accent of some kind.

wow I just recieved my interview for Jun 10

thanks god and everyone

Great news! Be sure to check out dwheels76's thread on June interviews and processes, found here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/493906-june-2014-interviews/

We got out interview date (finally :D ) for June 18th. [...]

Horray!! I'm envious :D

how I can track where I can find tracking number?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/493906-june-2014-interviews/

I believe the Interview thread discusses this kind of information in the first post ^_^

Hi everyone,

I received my NOA2 on May 1st, and now I'm waiting for my case to arrive at the NVC. I called USCIS yesterday to see if my case had been sent yet, and the person I spoke to said that could take 90 days. According to the helpful guides here, that seems wrong. Will I receive a notification when it is shipped? Is tomorrow too soon to start calling the NVC?

Final question: do you think there's a chance we'll get an interview date before October 1st? It seems like 5 months is pushing it based on recent information. :(

It still seems pretty variable. You can see in my timeline that mine took awhile to get to NVC, but Texas actually did send me an email when it was forwarded to the NVC. You have to call NVC to find out when it arrived.

May your journey be quick and free of checklists!! Read Saylin's post 1 many times :D

I believe I have just got a false checklist but just wanted to be sure.

[...]

I have already sent the IV package. So it's the flase checklist, isn't it? Thanks everyone for answering!

Looks exactly like the one I received recently!! Looks false to me too :D

I hadn't even considered that that would be grounds for an expedite. Thanks very much for the advice! :)

OK - I've got some answers. Not the ones I wanted, but enough to get me on to the next step.

I got a checklist this morning. It was asking for the Australian Police Certificate. It sent a list of instructions for how to GET a police certificate, including the sentence:

If you are applying through the New South Wales or Queensland Police, your police record will be sent directly to the US Consulate in Sydney.

And then gave me the standard cover sheet and told me to mail the documents to New Hampshire. Anyone else see a conflict here?

So...I called this morning during prime time, and waited a LONG time, but got to speak to Agent Abbie - she with the Noo Yawk accent (it was charming). She looked at the file, and was very puzzled by the fact that the case is NOT complete, because she said the code for the Queensland Police Certificate has a "P" in front of it indicating that is goes directly to the Consulate.

I said, "So, that means I have a "Case Complete" then, right?"

She said, "No."

I said, "So how will I get a case complete from NVC if the PCC goes directly to Sydney."

She said, "There is something funny here. It is asking for two police certificates. Did she live anywhere else in Australia?"

"Yes," I answered. "She lived in the State of Victoria for 20 years.

"OK. Let me talk to a supervisor for a minute. Hold on."

Waiting....waiting....waiting...

"Oh," said Abbie, coming back, "then she'll need to get a police certificate from Victoria."

Sigh.

"Abbie," I said, "they are the same police certificate. You just have to apply through your state. And Victoria will not give a police certificate to anyone who is not CURRENTLY living in Victoria. It's on their website."

"Ah," she said. "Then send us a cover letter stating that Victoria won't give a police certificate. Then we can close this out."

Me..."Thank you so much, Abbie. It was very confusing, and I appreciate your help." (FUMING INSIDE - how come *I* have to prove that Victoria will not issue a police certificate??????????????????)

Abbie: "You are welcome. That was really confusing. Good luck"

Click.

So...I have the pages printed from their website, and hopefully I can turn this around ASAP today.

This will set us back a good two weeks. No June Interview, for sure. And we already have tickets (changeable, thank goodness) for July 7th to come back to the US.

So when they checklisted me for the police certificate that isn't required at NVC I just requested a supervisor review and they took it off. They told me I had to wait 30 days but it only took 2 days, I didn't have to send anything to them. They didn't read their own instructions. You should have a case complete. Try and get a supervisor review. Still send what they want but at least if they clear the item in 2 days you will be ahead... if they don't remove it and still need you to do their job( big friggin joke) then the proof is on its way ....GOOD LUCK these people are friggin amazing. You would think they would have the most current info at their fingertips... SOOO UNREAL

hey guys -- on the DS-260, what should I do if my answer is too large for the box? specifically, the "STATE/PROVINCE OF BIRTH" box is too small for my answer

You could use the short form of the state. I am pretty sure that will be ok.

Ok the award for the stupidest question will come right here but clear my confusion please

When we email to nvc does it have to be NVCInquiry@state.gov with NVC and I all in caps? Or will nvcinquiry@state.gov do also?

it is NOT case sensitive so it does not matter.

NVCInquiry and nvcinquiry is the same thing.

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1
