I need to know if i need to get a lawyer for my husbands case. Would it be beneficial or effective to have a lawyer figure what the delay for the visa has been? Or I did find that there was a law that will not allow the CO to release any information regarding his case. We have been in administrative processing for 11 MONTHS now. And we try to send a letter to my congressman in Texas and it didn't do anything. I know the security clearance and issues there are major, but I feel like that are taking more than the usual time to issue the spousal visa.

We filed our I-130 petition on November 5, 2012. The NVC in Portsmouth, New Hampshire completed their processing on May 13,2013 and forwarded the case to the US Consulate in Jerusalem. My husband had his interview on June 24th, 2013 at the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem and during the interview, the consular officer explained that we had all the correct paper work and everything they needed for his visa application, however, we would have to wait 6-12 weeks for administrative processing.

The 6-12 weeks’ time frame we were given has passed and tripled and we have NOT receive his visa or any information regarding his case. We have contacted the US Consulate in Jerusalem via email several times and never received an explanation of the long processing time or given another time frame. No call has been received from them to send in his passport. They have everything they needed and only explained in an email that there was nothing that we could do on our part, but to wait.

July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Jerusalem is soooooooo slow in everything....just remember instead of the normal 2 countries, a third party is involved and they go extra slow.

8/12/2015 visa was issued !!!!!!
