Medical and Interview timing in Montreal

Don't have case complete yet, but should have shortly. Just trying to figure out how to do the medical and interview the cheapest and fastest way possible. I live in Northern Ontario. Toronto is a 5 hour drive and Montreal is a 10 hour drive. I thought about driving to Toronto and get medical done a week before interview and drive home. The day before interview I would drive to Toronto pick up medical, drive to Montreal(6 hours from Toronto), stay the night and go to interview first thing in the morning?? Cost would be about $300 in gas. I'm guessing a hotel for a week would be a lot more than $300. Was wondering what other people had done?

Just make sure you can get the medical results back in time.

Medisys does it in 3 days after medical day. I'm not sure about the others but someone said it was a couple weeks?!

A normal non-icky hotel will cost you about $100/night in downtown Montreal.

Ya. I called the doc in Vaughn Ontario today and they said 7-10 days to get results.

And I figured a decent hotel would cost quiet a bit.

I guess Vaughn or Toronto it is.

I will just my medical 2 weeks before interview to be on the safe side.

I'm also trying to figure out what medical records I need to bring. My vaccinations are all updated and have proof of all immunizations. But as for medical records I only have them going back 3 years. I was doctorless for 3 years prior and my previous doctor left the area and I have no idea where my medical records are. I would like to have them for when I move to the US. Any ideas on where or how I could get them?? I have no serious illness or medical conditions, just a slight back problem but that's recent so I have record of it.

I didn't take any medical records. I remember when I've been hospitalized and had surgery.

You are on the right track. Set up medical in Toronto about 3 weeks before. Doctors office can mail them to you for a fee. Go direct to Montreal a day before. I will suggest Dr. Lyndon. His office is very good if you follow instructions :) his website is visa doctor dot ca.

I just did my medical with him and they are good with emails. Just follow directions on the website and you are good to go. Normally you will have about 2 months the day you get interview date. So enough time to plan. I will put interview experience after my interview with suggestions where to stay very soon. Good Luck

It's 1-2 months from interview date to interview. Mine was only a month away. Others have been 2 months. Depends on the openings for Montreal. People have gotten case complete, then an interview date 2 days later for an interview at the end of the next month.

I still can't believe it takes these doctors that 3 weeks to get you your results. Medisys does it in 3 days. Dr. Cheema in Vancouver gives you the results NEXT day. 3 weeks later is a long time.

You can call Medisys and they are very accommodative in Montreal to give you back results in 3 days. I got my results in 3 days from Dr's Lyndon's office but you have to make that arrangement before confirming appointment and following instructions on his website. I did get reply from Medisys as well to get it done in 3 days. So give it a try.
