I-751 Question about filing criminal record dispositions again?

Hi everyone,

My husband needs to submit the I-751 in the next month. We noticed question #20 on the 04/11/13 version of the form reads: "Have you ever been arrested, detained, charged, indicted, fined, or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance (excluding traffic regulations), or committed any crime which you were not arrested in the United States or abroad"?

He had 2 summonses (for staying in the park after dark, and for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk) that he paid for. We submitted the dispositions to the USCIS after our initial "green card interview."

My question is - we should say yes to this question, clearly - do we have to submit these dispositions again, or can we say in the letter we will attached that these have already been submitted and should be on file with the USCIS? (we have the USCIS receipt showing that they received them)? The real issue is that I can't find the copies of these dispositions, and it'd be a (minor) pain in the butt to go to 2 different borough courts and get copies and pay for these copies again!!

Please let me know what's the right thing to do...I see that in older forms the question asks, "Since becoming a conditional resident, have you been arrested...etc." but this has now been removed! But it would make sense that it's since becoming a CR...?

If you had already submited them, and they were addressed, then I'd think you can put on the application something like "addressed at last interview" of the like.

Why do you think this need not be properly addressed? Since your date of birth has not changed, did you plan on telling them you already answered that question on a previous application? Or perhaps no copy of your GC is needed because they have it on file already, right? If the question states, and it CLEARLY does, have you ever....what exactly is your question? You know what the right aka legal thing to do is. What are you waiting on?

Thank you both for your replies! Cheezees of course, you do have a point! It was just really silly that we didn't make copies of the dispositions when we turned them in...but we even had a lawyer then and they didn't tell us we might need them again and in the craziness of it all we just turned them in without making copies (as I just discovered). Oh well, our fault. I was just trying to avoid going to collect dispositions again and pay for them but after all, that's a small price to pay for carelessness!
