Can Length of Residence & Current Job Affect the K-1?

Hey guys :)

Sorry if such a question has been answered before, but my partner & I wanted to apply for the K-1 (he's the US citizen), & so we just wanted to know whether the following could affect our eligbility & chances of being accepted or rejected for it?

Length of Residence

  • So we've been together 4 years, and over that time he's lived in a variety of places.
  • Now he was never kicked out of any of these places- he left willingly once the lease was up (in every circumstance).
  • He also has a great rental history, of paying the rent on time each time.
  • Do you think that, if residence length may be a problem, he could use a letter from the landlords as proof of the above?

Length of Job

  • He's also moved from different jobs over the past few years.
  • Again, this was on amicable grounds- own terms, no firing etc.
  • He will have been in the current job for a year.
  • Again, would a letter from previous employers disprove potential issues of instability?

Therapy

  • He has also been to a couple of therapy sessions, but recent therapist said he sees no problem with him
  • From reading the forums, I've seen that if you're not deemed to be a menace to society, & are an upstanding citizen (no criminal record, not on the dole, perfect rent history etc), then this shouldn't be a problem- is this true?
  • Once again, would a letter from the therapist (confirming that he contributes positively to society, & is not a threat) be sufficient?

One last point I wanted to add about the different jobs/ apartments etc- he also went out of state in between to look after his mother, and then came back & started again from scratch. I don't know whether these things would be taken into consideration when analysing why things have not been constant?

Sorry again if these questions sound stupid to you, but please weigh in (kindly!) with any opinions you may have, or whether you think you could redirect us to another relevant post on this?

Thanks a lot, you guys! :D

People change jobs and residences, and I don't see any probem with his as long as his aggregagte income over the last three years as well as his current income meet the minimum for support of you.

As for his mental health history, as long as he has had no legal matters in which this has been an issue, nobody is going to raise it. So you should not either. You will be the one checked by the doctor, not him.
