Hi everyone. I'm confused about the proper steps to the NVC. I have paid the AOS fee and IV fee. I'm wondering if I should submit AOS along with my wife's immigrant visa application with her civil documents. Also I'm confused about the DS260. It says in instructions that she should fill it out online but I also read that only certain applicants can fill it out online. Has the requirements for that changed? Hope someone can help me out here.

Everyone fills out the DS-260 on line. So yes do that.

Yes you cam send the AOS package and IV package together. Don't forget to print the bar coded cover page. I would separate them in their own envelope and than put both envelopes in o.e to mail.

Is it a good idea to put the NVC Case #, Invoice Identification # and Beneficiary # on all the pages of the documents because we read somewhere that they lost somebody's documents and if those number were there then they would know who it belongs too.

Sure its a good idea putting case# on all papers original documents put on a sticky and attach don't write on the original.

The above described procedure is likely to cause a day or two of delay, as the packages will need to be handled extra times before arriving at the correct department. There are codes in the addresses on the cover sheets that tell the mail room the correct routing. NVC would normally be ready to accept your AOS documents before the cover sheet for your civil documents will be ready. My recommendation is to send the packages separately. If you are following the shortcuts, you'll be ready to send the AOS at least a few days earlier than the civil documents anyway.

The cover sheet with letters CMR AOS directs the AOS package to the correct place within the building. The one without the letters AOS is for the civil documents' proper routing by the mail room.

As soon as your AOS fee is paid you print off the receipt with the bar code and use it as your cover page- they should send you directions as well to follow. and the DS-260 is online now and must be filled out online.

Download and use the AOS document cover sheet that has both the barcode and correct mailing address and department designator. The receipt is not intended for this use. They are both available at the same time.

NO. You don't send your documents until you've paid the IV fee, and downloaded the IV document cover sheet.
