HELP Please. with I 864 or I 864

Hello. Everyone and thank you in advance for reading this.

this is my dilemma. I've use my uncle house address for mailing and I lived there awhile and I used to file the petition. I did not change address because I am not i will continue to live in my apartment. so I never change the with the NVC or The USCIS. so Now is my mailing address. My question is My uncle will also be My joint sponsor. he is well qualify. Now In the affidavit of support it will show we live in the same address. WE are different household if I say I live there. would I need to file and a I-864a. or not. We do not need his assets. I am just want make sure I am doing it correctly. Or just should put my residence address for now my apartment. as residence and my uncle as Mailing address without changing address with the USCIS and NVC. I know is a little confusing.

Living in the same house as your uncle does not make you part of his household. Provide an I-864 from you and one from uncle. If uncle files taxes jointly with a spouse, provide an i-864 from spouse. Leave all asset related questions blank, when income is sufficient. Leave all asset questions blank on petitioner affidavit, when using a joint sponsor.

Make sure uncle (and aunt, if applicable) provide evidence of US Citizenship or LPR status.

Other members have recently been reporting receiving a checklist from the NVC for leaving those lines blank even though the instructions say doing so is ok and nobody had this issue in the past. I would suggest writing N/A in all those sections to avoid receiving a checklist.

I would initially suspect a member misunderstood or took some statement out of context. It certainly won't hurt to enter N/A in the asset sections but, in my experience, leaving the questions blank when income is sufficient, has never generated a checklist.
