You will need what is listed in the embassy instructions letter .

The only time that a Spousal Visa applicant will present the AOS is if you were expedited past the NVC Level. I have to explain this to my wife all the time as she tries to compare what her friends did for their K1 visas with our CR1. I am still providing her with a COPY of everything...just because.

September 28, 2013 -- Married at Ciudad Christa resort in Metro Manila

January 2, 2014 -- NOA1

February 10, 2014 -- NOA2

February 26, 2014 -- Sent to NVC

March 5, 2014 -- Received at NVC

July 8, 2014 -- Appointment at Embassy -- APPROVED!

Embassy instructions letter (for immigrant visas) does ask for the I-864 and supporting documents.

So we submit it twice? Because I had to submit it to NVC along with the $88. And every bit of paperwork that is asked for in the letter is to be submitted for our CR-1 to NVC as well.

You have two different events going on. 1) is the process of Adjustment of Status through NVC this gets your wife her green card when she arrives... it requires support evidence and a few other things. 2) is the visa application and process at the embassy and has it's own requirements.

You still have to meet the embassy requirements even though all is good with NVC.

...so they're getting copies of all this, right? Because we're submitting originals and photocopies to NVC.

The embassy wants what they have listed in the instructions letter, that is about it that I am sure of.
