Texas LOCKBOX and Texas Service Center confusion... Can VJ make it end somehow?

It is really annoying that people think Texas Lockbox is the same with TSC! Because when they send their files to Texas lockbox, they think they send it to Texas Service Center! And they fill their timelines as TSC even if their files were sent to the other service centers... This affects TSC filers so much, we can't know how things are going in TSC because of this confusion!

Uhh... This waiting stresses me out so much and it's only been 10 days.. I don't mean to offend anyone but please be careful and more considerate when filling out your timelines, people :(

Can VisaJourney indicate this more clearly to people when filling out timelines? :(

Hi there!,

I have seen many VJ'ers try to help everyone getting this issue sorted out but a lot of people are still entering their info as a transfer which is really messing up the timelines here.

I wrote this in a thread just earlier that will hopedully clear this up and maybe we could explain it to others to fix the problem because VJ'ers who are being processed at TSC are not getting the correct data because of this and that's very frustrating!

"If your NOA1 comes in saying your petition has been forwarded to California, please make sure your timeline and filing location say California, as this is NOT a transfer!"

If a petition was transferred it would look like this:

1. You sent your petition to Texas locked box/sorting facility (ALL petitions are sent here first and this is not the same as the Texas Service Center)

2. You receive your NOA1 that would say your petition has been accepted (YAY!) and is now being processed at Texas Service Center/TSC (Alien registration number would start with SRC) - NOT A TRANSFER (YET!)

3. So now your petition has been accepted and you have gotten your NOA1 (Great!) If you were getting transferred you would now have receive a secondary notice (AFTER NOA1) that would say your petition has now been transferred to California Service Center. - THIS is a transfer!

:)

As with many things associated with details, such as in this immigration journey. The devil is in paying attention to details. Some folks pay attention to details, some don't, that's life. In this arena, not paying attention to USCIS/DOS details often can, and does, result in 'interesting' consequences.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
