Intent to marry letter does it have to be notarized?

Do we need to have this letter notarized as well? I know that all copies of birth certificates and divorce decree have to... Is there anything else that has to be notarized? Im putting my package together and I dont want something like this to delate our process.

No. But foreign fiance()es statement must also have original signature.

Thank you, but the more I read the more confused I get.... Not the certifacates it self but the translated copies... as it is in spanish... Also now I read that the 325-A is not supposed to be singed?? is that true? I had my fiance singed his and I singed mine... Its not a big deal but Im just glad I have not sent my package yet.

Can you provide source links to these bits of info. Because I'm still going through the process, so I don't wanna try to be Mr Goldenboy. But my fiancee & I individually signed our respective G-325As. But yes the translated copes I believe do need to be notarized but I'm not 100% certain. I know at some point someone will come in here & accurately answer your questions.

It was a long time ago. I think the username of VJ member that wrote is Gary and Alla. It is pinned. My fiance and I signed our G-325A and no problem at all. No RFE or whatsoever and got approved for I-129F in 38 days.

I know how stressful it is, been there and done it before. But, don't let it bothers you a lot. Just stay focus, ask your fiance(e) double checked together - my fiance and I did over Skype and phone by sending these forms back and forth-. You should be just fine by following a guide of K-1 visa here on VJ. Good luck!

I was very confused about this notarization stuff too. I ended up sending everything without getting them witnessed and We didn`t get RFE.

Please take the opportunity to carefully review and follow the Form I-129F and Form G-325A forms and instructions:

Paying particular attention to the absence of any requirements for signature notarization and for signature requirements from USCIS. The forms' signature certification statement(s) about US Federal penalties for perjury or document falsification likely carry more weight than a signature notarization.

We had our affidavits of intent to be married notarized because I have a friend that is a Notary and works for an attorney. She said that affidavits really do not need to be notarized because they are by nature a legal document recognized by the courts provided they are signed and dated. However, she said it wouldn't hurt to have it notarized. My fiance just went and had it notarized to supply a document of like kind. The G-325A form just has to be an original signed and dated document. In the USA Birth Certificates must be provided by the state in which the citizen was born to pass legal sufficiency. I provided 3 separate birth record documents - one from the state as well as copies of the originals issued by the hospital and from the attending Doctor. We also had our Minister's affidavit that he would be performing our marriage notarized and the affidavit from the owner of the property where our marriage would take place notarized. I can't imagine what else would need to be notarized.

Thank you, that's another thing, I wanted to get letter from my priest stating that we have initiated the process to get married through the catholic church, however I dont know if thats too much to send in....

Thank you, I have these forms, however on the instructions for 325A didnt especify if it had to be singed and dated or not... I know it should be common sense but that post got me confused.

This wesite is the best that could of happend to me during this process!!
