So here's one to get started:

The first time I was carrying all my naughty satin nightwear to my Fiances house (decided I didnt need any of it here when I'm away from him) they decided to make a random check on my carry-on luggage.....It was the only time I had that much really personnal stuff in my luggage and the only time I got checked out of 6 trips. Did I mention how red my face was ? :whistle:

And the woman looking into that looked like she was thinking I was a ####### or something... :wacko:

oh well ;)

I -LEFT- all that kinda stuff in the US for exactly that reason! I wouldn't worry too much though I'm sure they've seen much worse!

My personal Murphy's Immigration Law is, the minute you say "FINALLY I have EVERY PIECE OF PAPER I NEED." You will invariably notice that something is not signed :whistle:

I think they've probably seen a whole lot worse in people's luggage, but I would have been embarrassed too.

Ok - here is another Murphy's law - whenever you cross the border to visit your fiancee you always carry all of the paper work you need to prove your ties to your own country and you are never checked. The first time you cross the border to pick your fiancee up at the airport because he is coming to visit you, you don't bring your proof of ties to your home country because you are not travelling - and they decide to pull you into secondary inspection!!

Coming back thru NYC i guess she was a trainee sitting there watching the luggage, keep looking and looking at mine, said something to the other one. FInally he asked is this your bag, yes it is, i need to open it and show her something. Go ahead i knew i didnt have anything of much interest except a LARGE WOODEN CAMEL who knows why that was giving her a problem.

I think that they play a game every day. Kinda like "I Spy" or a treasure hunt.. :) And a Wooden Camel must have been on the list for that day!! She probably got 50 points for spotting that one!!

I once had a mini microphone on a keychain in my carry on luggage. The whole area went crazy when it was xrayed. I had to pull it out (you could see the tension on their faces). They had the bomb swabs out, the whole bit. Too funny!!

Believe me we have... I remember one time I had a car full of drunk kids came up and when I asked them what their ctizenship was, a guy in the back seat gave me the vulcan sign with a Brador beer bottle cap in their palm and stated quite loudly "BRADOR!"

I sent them to secondary to let them sober up...

A friend of mine who worked at the airport had a lady who had a whole suitcase full of sex toys and other such implements... She stated that they were for her boyfriend... she figured it was because she was "working" and they proceeded to send her back home...

I got stopped and had my carry-on luggage searched right before boarding the plane (in the boarding walkway). The woman kept insisting that my two microscopes -one dissecting scope, one compound scope- were "sculptures". :wacko: #######? Sculptures of what? She made me so angry. :angry:

If you have a quick, simple question that isn't too serious (in your mind) you'll get through the 800# in 10-15 minutes

If you have a heart stopping, my-world-is-coming-to-an-end-problem, it'll take 50-60 minutes.

Married 12-30-05

Started our visa journey Jan 06.

01-06 - I-130, K3 shortly after

04-06 - switched to Canada Immigration

07-06 - Moved to Canada (PR almost complete)

07-06 - Changed again, back to US imm.

09-06 - Landed as Canadian PR

10-06 - DCF Toronto, Approved in 1.5 hrs!

11-06 - Interview Montreal (success!)

I-130

10-05-06 DCF in Toronto - Approved

10-19-06 Packet 3 received & sent back

10-20-06 Montreal receives P3

11-03-06 Packet 4 received

11-06-06 Medical

11-22-06 Interview / Visa approved

11-26-06 heading home, 6 day drive, my oh my

And as soon as you hang up, you remember you had another question to ask. I remember my fiancee asking me to call and ask this or that question. I couldn't bear to hear the same 'hold music' again.
