Did anyone here get sick after returning home from the middle east? I'm sooooooo nauseous and I'm thinking it's due to the food changes..going from egyptian food to american. Is this common and how the heck long is it gonna last 'cause I have work to do?

I had boughts of nausea and stomach cramps while I was in Egypt. Both times I lost weight while I was there. When I came back I was raring to go. I had a list of food I wanted to eat. Maybe your body is just readjusting itself to being back home. When you first got home did you feel like you were walking in a dream? I did.

Still feel like I'm walking in a dream! Didn't get sick at all in Egypt though. Only now.

You didn't get sick in Egypt at all? I thought I was doing great myself until Moh decided to bring home tuna "pizza". Oh and holding it for days because I didn't know how to "flush" the toilet didn't help either. Oh yeah and holding it out of fear of the giant sorsar. Holding it will cause bad stomach cramps.

Ok the tuna pizza just made me sick again. lol.

I refused the tuna pizza and had the veggie pizza instead. LOVED it. The pizza dough is just filo dough.

ugh.

Luckily I didn't have to hold it since reading your experience gave me the heads up. I immediately knew what the bucket was for. rofl

Tuna on pizza should be illegal. I don't even think it should be called pizza. Yuck. I don't even like chicken on pizza.

Oh guys! I got sick 2nd time and all the others, but not the 1st time. It was terriiiiiiiiiiible! I didn't like their toilets and oh, man! did i have problems! I got a sence to get some gas medicine though!

After 1st time problems, i was eating bread with olive oil, olives and basically anything. I got the opposite problems. Mohamed of course, said that it's because of the sun - the nausea, and some other pleasant stuff... They blame everything on sun over there!

But i didn't have any problems with Moroccan water, i was just drinking it from the faucet and that was fine.

Because of all of this and 'moroccan shower' with a bucket of water, i was actually very glad to get home and say "HI" to my toilet (maybe, i even said, 'i love you') and shower! Is that too much information? Sorry if it is!

But my remedy for lots of stuff is apple sider vinegar with water (1-2 teaspoons per glass of water) - don't say i'm a doctor, it's not a medical advice. But it helps a lot in case of upset stomack, nausea and some other stuff.

In Morocco they made me some terribly tasting tea and i had to drink it, and then go to Rabat from Khemisset to get starting on paperwork for getting married. That was terrible! I got even sicker!

ONE thing i have to say here, not everybody there washes dishes with water or with dish soap and water. IN one place i caught somebody washing dishes with TIDE! The laundry detergent! I'm sure that was the reason of me getting sick 2nd time. So, it doesn't even have to be the food!
