i-751 Affidavit (Notarization)

I am planning to get a couple I-751 affidavits started (with the help of a few close friends), using the example affidavit letter posted on the VJ site.

Although, there is a section in the letter for notarization, the I-175 instructions did not state that affidavit notarization is required.

Sorry to ask, but when using this template, will it be OK for the Notarization Section (after Affiant's signature + full name) to be edited out of the letter? If not, can the letter be submitted with the notarization section left blank?

Has anyone got dinged for submitting un-notarized affidavit letters?

You can remove the notarization part, the template is probably for a variety of different forms/processes. We did not get our affidavits notarized and everything was just fine.

I asked my old neighbors not to get the affidavits notarized. They would have been gone out of their way to help but I just hated to bother them too much, you know a trip to the notary office and a couple of bucks.

No need to get them notarized. ..you can remove that section. . But remember to have the person writing the affidavit to sign it !!

Affidavits don't help very much to begin with...notarization is not required and certainly overkill for this weak category of evidence.
