Hey everyone,

I am apply for my citizenship N-400.

I received my reciept number on the January 24 2014 and until now I did not received my letter for my biotmetric. It has been 2 months from the receipt. I had my lawyer to call them and they said everything is good and asked me to wait until 4/19/2014. They said if I do not received my letter for my biotmetric by the 4/19 give them a call again. I am so upset about the wait and delay. What can I do to speed up my application? Please help me!

Joel

Has your check cleared your bank yet? You should create an account on the USCIS website. Perhaps they already mailed your appointment letter and it got lost in the mail. Watch out for yourself. DO NOT depend completely on your lawyer!!

I did E-Update on my case with the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Service. I entered my receipt number with email update and mobile update. Are you talking about that service??? If you have a better way to check my status please let me know. Thanks!

My priority date is 01/14/14, and like you, I still have not received my bio appointment letter. I did an InfoPass last 03/20/14, but it was useless. The immigration officer advised me that my documents are still with NBC. They could not do anything about it. So he told me to call USCIS toll free and to send a certified mail to the address shown in the NOA. When I called on 03/28, I asked to be transferred to a Tier 2 Officer. He contacted the local service center, citing that my case is already out of the timeline. I have to wait for 2 weeks (since the call) for the Service Center to act on his request. Let's see...the 2nd week will be next Friday.

Joel, I advised you to call the toll free and demand to talk to a Tier 2 Officer. These are immigration officers who have the capability to drill the status of your case. They can see if a bio appointment was scheduled or not.

In my case, my bio appointment was supposed to be scheduled last 01/20, but a date was not shown in their system. I asked him point blank if it was 'human error'. Of course, he did not say so.:-) But anyway, I was still relieved. What worries me is - if I have an appointment in the system that I do not know of and will end up missing it. This can be a ground for a hold up.So yeah, I am still waiting...

Hi Princess,

I followed your instruction on calling them and demand to speak to tier 2 officer. They told me that my biometric is not scheduled and it is out of the 30 days time frame. He put an request on with a case number and said I will get a response within 2 weeks about my biometrics. Soooo.... another wait! sigh.... =(

Princess,

Some questions for you:

1) when did you call the USCIS for your biometrics?

2) how did they response to your request about your biometric

3) how long did you wait till you get your biometric letter after that call?

4) Did they response to you at all? 2 weeks they said to me.

Thanks

Joel

The first time (on 02/20), I did not talk to a Tier 2 Officer, but only to a customer rep. He created a Service Request for me. This is the part where I had to wait for 30 days before I can call them back. On 03/28, I called to follow up the result of the Service Request. I was told the request was 'closed' in their system, but there was no 'response' created. So basically, the Service Request was a waste of time.

The second call (the one on 03/28), i talked to a Tier 2 Officer, and he is the one who contacted the local Service Center. This time, the waiting period was only 2 weeks (better than another 30 days if sent a request via a customer service rep).

Anyway, I could not wait for another 2 weeks so I called TODAY (a week from my last call). I was informed that my biometric appointment letter was sent on 04/01. So now, I am just looking forward to receiving it in the mail.

My biometrics was waived so there is a big possibility that yours might be too. After I made a service request I got a reply 3days after and was told that my fingerprints from my ROC are still valid. Apparently FP has a validity of 12-16months.

Hi Dukester,

Thank you for your reply. Wavied? Like I don't have to do my finger prints? So how is your case? What is going to happen next? I did call in like you did and spoke to the Tier 2 officer about my Biometric and he said 2 weeks and someone will reply me. SO.... I am so depress about my case not going forward at all. Can you tell me about it?

I think there are two things you can do right now that will greatly help you.

1) Make an InfoPass appointment at your local field office. If one is not available immediately, go anyway. Take your Legal Permanent Resident card (Green Card), your Driver's Licence (or any other government-issued photo identification), and all correspondence that you have received related to this petition (like your Notice of Action I-797C). Tell the Immigration Officer you speak with your concerns about this case. They may be able to provide more help than you have recently encountered.

2) Sign up for some yoga classes as soon as possible (this is for the stress, of course). You've understandably moaned quite a bit, and your username clearly underscores your agitated state of mind. A series of yoga sessions ought to do wonders for you. You live in the Bay Area of California, so there is probably a yoga studio on your block.

Good luck, and I expect that you ought to have good news very soon!

Panem today, Panem tomorrow, Panem forever...

I have neither legal training nor immigration expertise; all comments posted must therefore be consumed in that vein.
