Update from our side: after receiving a check-list a few days ago for the IV package (petitioner's birth certificate was not a certified copy), we submitted a certified copy (the only "original" we had kept). It was logged into the system today and within a few hours, my duaghter, the petitioner, received an email from NVC stating:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (
NVC
) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: XXXXXXXX filed by YYYYYYY on behalf of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

We received documentation for your case. Please allow 30 business days for us to review your documents.

The
NVC
reviewed the case file and the Petitioner's BC is still needed. It was not located in the file.

So,
NVC
lost the birth certificate we just sent, although it was clearly attached, with the case number references, etc!!!!! I am speechless. To make matters worse, I called
NVC
and after 50 attempts with busy tone and 30 minutes of wait once the call got through, who answers the phone? Mrs Joy!!! She basically said "tough luck", we did not find your birth certificate, you can ask to search again but she recommended that we get another certified copy and submit it.

What can I say, when it rains, it pours......

I'm so sorry this happened, seems we will all have to get a few copies the way things are going. Ahhhhh Joy Miss Nasty Pants I knew her kindness and sweetness couldn't last it's just not in her nature.

I noticed that your DS-261 was "accepted". How did you find out when DS-261 got accepted? I am currently waiting for my IV bill to be invoiced. I sent my AOS package already.

how's your IV payment status looking? still 'in process'?

Still showing "in process" too.. I'm going to give them til the end of this week considering all the problems with their systems. I'm in no rush, husband just mailed me his AOS docs so I don't think I will get them til next week.

Called today to followup on receiving my wife's case and invoice number and to update address and email. I also asked how long it takes for invoice to become avail to pay. They said 20-30 days. Anyone know what the average time has been lately?

Alright, folks, May thread has been posted here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/493903-nvc-filers-may-2014/

As every month, EVERYONE moves to the current month, which is now May. It doesn't matter where you are at in the process (just got a NOA2, sending packages, waiting for case complete, etc), everyone still moves.

This isn't like the I-130 filers where you stay in the same thread the entire time. NVC is different ;)

Keep in mind, within a few days, Ryan H will come around and lock this thread. So, you'll have to come over to May after that anyways :P

Oh, and finally, please read post 1!!! Click on all the links. I promise, it'll make the process smoother if you do ;)

NVC has just received my case from NSC! :dance:

Yay!!!

Called today to followup on receiving my wife's case and invoice number and to update address and email. I also asked how long it takes for invoice to become avail to pay. They said 20-30 days. Anyone know what the average time has been lately?

The AOS invoice is usually ready within a few days of receiving the case number or up to a week.

Beneficiary - Applying for CR1/IR1 (but also played the K3 card prior to understanding it may be phased out.)

2013: July 20: I-130 sent (Chicago lockbox)

July 24: I-130 NOA1

July 24: I-129F sent (Dallas Lockbox)

Aug 2: I-129F NOA1

Aug 12: Alien Registration Number was changed, I-129F.

2014: Jan 28/29/30: - 3 transfer notices for I-130 and I-129F.

Feb 3 - Hard copy arrived -Notice of transfer to Texas stating Jan 29th.

Feb 10 - NOA2

Feb 27 - email stating I-130 being sent to NVC from TSC.

March 6 -NVC received our case.

April 7 - CASE NUMBER yay! IIN and BIN obtained and email given.

April 9 - DS261 available and filled in online.

April 9 - AOS not yet payable but visible.

April 10 - email regarding NVC case number and access to DS261 received/ email regarding AOS received and paid.

April 11 - AOS sent by snail mail.

April 14 - AOS arrived per mail tracking.

April 15 - IV bill received via email, IV bill paid/ in process, IV package sent.

April 18 - IV bill showing paid/ DS-260 available and done!

- AOS scanned into their system.

April 21 - IV package arrived per mail tracking.

April 24 - IV scanned into their system.

May 2 - False checklist for IV documents= AOS approval.

May 13 - NVC rep reported ? missing Police certificate via my phone call.

- Supervisor review initiated.

May 14 - Checklist for Police certificate came via email.

- Sent checklisted documentation priority post!

May 15 - Package delivered per mail tracking.

May 19 - Case COMPLETE!! Police certificate found by NVC:)

May 28 - Case complete email arrived.

May 30 - Assigned Interview date!

June 2 - Interview letter arrived via email.

June 11- Medical appointment Surrey, BC

July 8 - Interview in Montreal!! APPROVED!!!!!!!! July 10 - Visa package and passport in hand!! July 23 - POE!!

So I am assuming a new I-864 form needs to be filled out with the correction and sent ASAP. The paralegal that I am working with must have done this wrong but if you do this all the time, shouldn't you know how to fill this out already? Really annoyed! :bonk: And super upset.
No more dreams of a June interview.

We have a lawyer too and the paralegal sent the AOS too, I hope she didn't make any mistakes either. I saw she didn't fill out everything in the form and I asked her if she didn't have to fill out NA or none everywhere? She told me she is doing this 15 years and she knows what she is doing....I am crossing my fingers!

Just wanted to say thanks for the comprehensive guide to the NVC process. Its very helpful! I am realizing late in this process, that my lawyer was a complete waste of time and that i could have done it all by myself. Too bad she already got my money! I sure am hoping that I could get lucky with an interview for my wife by the end of July! And thanks for the heads up to move over to May NVC forum. I will be there from this point forward. Thanks Saylin!

I got my case number over the phone last Thursday. Still waiting. When i log into nvc site, the status shows "not invoiced". :(

07-09-13 - Application received at Chicago Lockbox NOA1

01-03-14 - Transfer notice to Nebraska

01-06-14 - Application received at Nebraska

03-13-14 - NOA2 notification

03-25-14 - NVC received case

04-24-14 - Case number and IIN received over the phone

05-02-14 - Paid AOS Fees

05-06-14 - Sent AOS package

05-07-14 - AOS Fees showed up as paid

05-08-14 - AOS package received at NVC (Scanned on may 8th)

05-08-14 - IV Bill showed up and paid

05-12-14 - Sent IV package overnight

05-13-14 - IV package received at NVC (Scanned on may 15th)

06-05-14 - AOS Checklist for not having N/A written for "Place of Residence" (checklist info received over the phone).

06-09-14 - AOS Checklist - I864EZ delivered today.

I am realizing late in this process, that my lawyer was a complete waste of time and that i could have done it all by myself. Too bad she already got my money! And yeah, unless you need a waiver or have some other difficulties in your case, this process can certainly be done on your own. Especially with this awesome site! Just keep an eye on your lawyer ;)

I actually called NVC and they told me it was accepted and later that day I received an email from NVC saying the DS-261 was accepted I was also told by someone on here that once your IV fee is invoiced that means the ds-261 is accepted

I broke down, and called last night. Was told our AOS was under review, and that we would probably receive a false checklist for the IV package. Sure enough, got the IV checklist today.

The days drag by now, waiting for our CC. I'm still hoping for a June interview, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hi, why you didn't file an expedite request, I think if you want you can still do it and then your wife will get interview in June. :)

12/21/2001 - Got married (L)

USCIS: (IR1)

07/15/2013 - I-130 Sent

07/18/2013 - NOA1

01/23/2014 - NOA2 approved

02/06/2014 - I-130 Sent to NVC

NVC:

02/19/2014 - NVC received

03/25/2014 - I-130 case # assigned :dancing: :dance:

Waiting for new case number :clock: (wrong embassy code assigned)

04/02/2014 - requested to change embassy at NVC Inquiry@state.gov

04/12/2014 - sent an expedite request along with request to change embassy NVCExpedite@state.gov

04/18/2014 - denied to change the embassy (luck of Supervisor's attention, :( I think he didn't see an attachment in the letter. So we sent another request again)

04/22/2014 - received a new case # and a note that expedite request is under review for me and our daughter :clock:

04/24/2014 - DS-261 completed

05/02/2014 - Paid AOS and Packet IV fees

05/07/2014 - Sent Package IV from Ukraine

05/08/2014 - Sent AOS Package

05/08/2014 - All Bills shoved paid ( DS-260 available)

05/09/2014 - DS-260 completed

05/13/2014 - AOS Package received (scanned)

05/16/2014 - Packet IV recieved

05/23/2014 - Check list for birth certificate (didn't like daughters US birth certificate, wanted to see Ukrainian) :wow:

06/06/2014 - Case still under review, this expedite approval is BS (sorry don't have other words for it) :cry:

06/17/2014 - Check list for AOS ( missed one spote, did't put check mark )

06/20/2014 - Sent AOS responce.

07/01/2014 - AOS Package scanned.

07/18/2014 - Medical exam done.

08/12/2014 - CASE COMPLETE :goofy::goofy::dancing::luv::dance::dance:SOOOO HAPPY!!!!!

08/15/2014 - Case in transit.

08/21/2014 - INTERVIEW, APPROVED :dancing: :luv: :dance: :dance: :dance: :D

08/22/2014 - Visa issued

08/26/2014 - Visa in hand

09/08/2014 - US Entry
