Hi there

This is your friend from fellow Adelaide. We have a lawyer and they said this week that we didn't have to send our documents to NVC. Rather they would be sent to Consulate. Upon further research though they agreed that yes we do submit to NVC. I am thinking this info might be out of date. Don't quote me though. Or it could be that under different circumstances some people to go to submit to Consulate. Perhaps if you are applying for I-130 from Australia. Just a thought!!

Thanks for replying! I am filing abroad from Australia so I'm feeling a liitle anxious about what to do. I think I'll call the embassy Monday and ask them, but since I've started the process through NVC and USCIS and not through the Consulate, I think I'm supposed to continue with NVC. I'll update after I speak with someone from the Consulate, though :-)

I have no idea why USCIS messed up my case.

Frist of all, I never got transferred like others fillers in August thread. ( why just me  )

2) They closed my 129f before approving my 130.

3) They never give me any answer about my expedite request. ( pending)

4) finally, when its time to send my case to NVC, they didn't send my full package to them.

NVC told me that they were missing some documents from USCIS.

I emailed my senator and created some request at uscis and nvc.

So the senator helped you??How??how did u receive tha news that yr case has been sent to NVC?

From my experienced, I can say that NVC is way better than USCiS.

Hi all,

Is anyone getting an error 503 message when trying to pay the AOS bill?

I came here to ask almost the same question. I am getting the 503 error when trying to pay the IV bill. Had no trouble with the AOS bill about 5~6 days ago. Perhaps it is down for maintenance?

Hello Everyone,

First of all, congratulations to everyone who receive case complete today!! What a great way to start the weekend.

Secondly, allow me to join the celebration because I also just received my CASE COMPLETE for both my wife and daughter!!!! :dancing: :joy:

Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank you guys for the support and the fun in this forum. Thank you to our dear fairy Saylin for writing such a wonderful NVC guide that taught me all the tricks. Thank you also to Kaylara and BOS_LHR for your guidance in the June I-130 forum. Thank you Changnoi for your support and your jokes. And everyone else who unknowingly helped me, because all of my questions were already answered by others who shared their experiences in here.

If you allow me, I would love to continue paying it forward as many of you already do.

So happy right now!!!

You walked through NVC with Style and Grace.

Your timing is impeccable with June interviews looming large.

Regrettably your announcement came late on a Friday night

So no time to rent a Stretch Lexus and celebrate properly.

Another day perhaps....

I love Wikipedia's definition of patience for it describes our visa journey so well:

"Patience (or forbearing) is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances, which can mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without acting on annoyance/anger in a negative way; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties. Patience is the level of endurance one can take before negativity. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast."

I am so happy that many of us display patience to others on this forum; while others need a little more help in this department. ;) This process can make us a bit crazy. So here is a little reminder so that we can get back on track. For those of you who chose to stick around and help others, having people month after month asking the same questions over and over again can make anyone lose it. :dead: Let's remember that we are in this together and for most of us, the only support that we have comes from VJ. So please let's be mindful of this when we are responding to one another. Patient is a virtue; yet it is attainable. :innocent:

That checklist is for the Passport Service Kendra or PSK --- not for you.

Case complete - means Case Complete !

If you are in a state under the Mumbai jurisdiction, you will need that checklist to get a Police Certificate from the PSK.

Bring BOTH that checklist and the Police Certificate from PSK to your interview.

Congratulations and good luck !!

Unfortunately for all of us, Australia no longer has Direct Consular Filing (DCF). For fiance(e) and spousal visas, we have to go through USCIS and NVC. The instructions on the Canberra website were for DCF - and that no longer applies. You'll do better looking at the US sites. Good luck!

What date did you get your case number?

Friday, April 18th

Put your timeline in your signature...you will get lots of help here that will propel you to "case complete" with NO checklists.

Keep checking the CEAC portal. It will be available shortly. Take this time and start doing research and making notes.

Get your packets ready to ship. Look at my timeline, once you get access its "game on" and you can be "DONE"

in 3-4 weeks with CEAC :)

I check every day, sometimes twice a day, and nothing. I'll put my timeline in my signature and hope it starts going faster. Because right now I feel like it's going at a snail's pace waiting and waiting for the DS-261 and AOS Invoice. What do you mean by access?

Hey, for those of you who have recently gotten "Case Complete"...has your status on the CEAC "Visa Status Check" page changed? Or does it continue to say "At NVC" until they send it to the appropriate Consulate/Embassy? (Or does it ever change at all????)

Thanks for any hints!

Your status will stay "at NVC" until an interview is scheduled and your case is shipped, at which point status will be "in transit." When it reaches the embassy or consulate, it updates to "ready." I think after that the last status change is to "issued" :D
