Soloenta, Ireland and Northern Ireland are two different countries. Collie is having trouble because the NVC is having the same trouble you are - they are NOT the same.

Collie is petitioning her parents, the trouble is NVC is rusty on geography and mistook them as going through Dublin when they needed London. I haven't seen anyone actually going through Dublin.

Speaking of Americans' geography.. Me and my wife were exchanging notes to USD... The banker asked us if Great Britain was in England...and if London was in France..

In Australia we are told to bring a pre-paid, self-addressed Express Post envelope (which is trackable) with us - and that we should get the passport, with visa, back in 3-5 days (depending on weekends). There is no Saturday mail delivery in Australia, which can be frustrating! Since we will have to fly to Sydney for the interview, we're hoping to spend a few days actually having FUN there. It will be early winter, most likely. I've always wanted to do the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb!

One of my regrets when I was in Asia during a past business trip is that I did not take up a friend on an offer to visit Sydney.

Just 9 hours away from an amazing adventure. I would have done the bridge climb at night...what a view...........

i just called NVC for my 3rd time - yes it is no false checklist- though i knew that- Hubsters is going to try and get court certified thing off today- we had it on order for the interview and luckily it is arriving early in post today we think. Hopefully this wont set us back too much- off to analyse spreadsheet dates and timelines to see how long it takes to get a checklist cleared up.

I am in Hove down near Brighton. We used to live in Belair but sold family home and am now in Hove. Husband in US since September working and I am here with children waiting. Been married 17 years and both kids US Citizens. Used to have a Green Card but it expired while we were back in Australia so had to re-apply. What about you? Have you been approved and are you at NVC?

Bahaha! That's... hilarious, but simultaneously terrifying. The US has some abysmally low percentage of citizens with passports as compared to European countries. You can tell we collectively don't get out much

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I am a little bit confused about the AOS. I currently reside in Australia with my husband (I am the USC). I am employed here but I also have accepted a job offer in the USA and my income will be above the poverty level. I do not start that job until July 28th but I do have an employment contract listing my income.

Because we are submitting our AOS in the next week or so, I have asked my Mom to be a joint sponsor for me. But in the section of the AOS where it asks my employment, should I put my current job, or my job in the USA?

And, is this the correct way of going about it? I can't use myself as a sponsor as I would have no pay stubs for my USA job yet because I have not started. Is this correct? There is a section in the AOS Instructions that state, "You may include evidence supporting your claim about your expected income for the current year if you believe that submitting this evidence will help you establish ability to maintain sufficient income". Could I do this?

Hey, I think using a joint sponsor is the way to go considering you'll be leaving your current job so your current income and proof of won't count. Definitely use your employment offer as evidence of reestablishing domicile there in the U.S. though. Good luck!

My petitioner (USC) currently living with me in india from Oct-2013, And she was recently completed her schooling in US so no income.(My father in law is a join sponsor).

Do we need to provide the domicile when sending AOS packet??
