It has only been 5 since we got our NOA 2 I know the wiki instructions say to call once a week until the file is received at the NVC. Realistically how long should I actually wait until I call to inquiry about the case?

You can call every day if you wish, but realistically, you might expect the NVC to receive (and scan in) your I-130 info about two weeks after the USCIS says they actually mailed it.

It took 25 days for me. In my opinion, this is the biggest waste of time in the "system". 3 1/2 weeks to ship a document from Texas to New Hampshire means they shipped it via Pony Express.

DS 261 completed!!

Tried to pay the FEES..but..this came up.. "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. If you believe you have received this message in error, or to resume processing of the case, please contact the NVC immediately."

But I know that they are just inputting the case to the site...thanks to the VJ family. :-)

I've been reading the wiki page by Saylin and everyone else's posts religiously. THANK YOU GUYS for all that you have done.

A clarification...I need to wait until I pay the AOS fee..(so that a barcode is generated)...to send in the packet???

Did you ask for case number and INV # ? or they just gave it to you

I just received the email saying that our approved case was shipped today (4/23) to the Department of State for visa processing. Is there any difference between cases that are shipped the NVC and the cases that are shipped to the Department of State?

So after 3 calls back to the NVC because I got so over excited about getting a case number I finally got through 2 more times and got both the IIN and BIN....I'm assuming that maybe by next Monday I'll be able to do the DS-261?? (fingers crossed). In the meantime can anyone tell me what vaccines are needed at the medical? Are they the same ones for all over the world or do different countries have different vaccines for the beneficiary to get? My husband is from Colombia so we're curious as to which ones they are?

Correct. You have to wait until the fee has been paid so you can get the barcode sheet, and you should wait until the fee is deducted from your bank account before sending the package to be safe.

I concur with the post above. Look at my timeline. So...

--they approve NOA2

--then..they ship...

--then..I donno...it takes 2-3 weeks for NVC to receive it???

--then..a few weeks before a case number is generated

SLOWEST SYSTEM EVER!!

If you have been the unlucky kind like me...the above takes almost 2 months.

I've been so stressed that I'm getting a massage tomorrow.

BIN isn't needed anymore since all countries went electronic for the DS-261 and DS-260
