NVC Filers - April 2014

You can make sure the record they have is correct that's about it. They do mail you your passport but that's via dhl/loomis and you go to the location to pick it up.

I just called them and spoke to a nice man named Mel. He was able to correct the error for me

I have a feeling that I will get a "real" checklist on AOS and the reason is that on the I-864-EZ, part-3

{ "Information about the sponsor",

item 9. Place of residence (if different from mailing address).

}

I put the same address as I put in item 8 - "Mailing Address" because I do not want to leave it blank because of the stories I read on VJ about NVC sending checklist if we leave a field blank.

But now I think that I should have put "N/A" in section 9 to meet the "unknown" requirements of NVC.

So my question is, if I get the "real" checklist for this issue (or any other):

1. Do I need to fill out only a new page #2 for I864-EZ and send it to NVC, OR

2. Do I need to fill out a completely new I-864-EZ.

Also, do the NVC send checklist via email or snail mail.

FYI: My country is not eligible for EP.

Doubt you'd get a checklist for repeating the same address. Highly doubt to the point I'd bet you don't unless there was another issue.

Also as long as the NVC has your email, everything is through email.

Just called NVC and was told they received my case yesterday 4/14, got approved 4/1..so not bad at all !! Can time pass by any faster? ?

At least I'm not like NVC where they issue checklists The worst that can happen with me is that I don't add/update you for not following instructions in what I thought was an easy enough form

Oh I hate the heat but it's only three months out of the year the rest is in the 80's and unlike Florida which is really humid and least the few times I have been there, California is not. So dry heat only in summer. No I don't work for the tourist industry

But I actually like Florida's humidity!

And 80s is still too hot for my husband He prefers it like 60 or below.

The reason I clicked submit twice is nothing happened the first time.

I just went back and tried again. I only entered my case complete date

CASE COMPLETE 4-14-2014 Thanks to Saylin I made it through NVC in 32 days from Case # to Case Complete.

I received the IV invoice e-mail, this afternoon. I tried to submit the payment right away, but it wouldn't let me. then, about an hour later, it finally did. for some reason, I thought you could only download the document cover sheet AFTER the payment was accepted, but it turns out that it's not true. the cover sheet with the barcode became available for download as soon as I submitted the IV payment for processing.

it kind of caught me by surprise. I am not used to things moving so fast! lol I won't even have my IV packet ready until Thursday or Friday!

Someone needs to read the instructions There are two requirements to submit the form (aka two data points that are REQUIRED and the form won't be submitted until you fill them out) and that's the timeline (which you got), but also the NOA2 date. The reason I ask for the NOA2 date is so that I can easily find you on my spreadsheet since the non-case complete folk are sorted by that date.

Question regarding Police certificate:

My wife is from Hong Kong and they are real a-holes about the police certificate. They will not authorize one without a written letter explicitly from the US government stating that the police certificate is necessary along with my wife's name. On top of that they will not give us the certificate. They will only mail it to the consulate. (Maybe the NVC center in US but I am not sure on that.)

All my research says the only thing I can do is send in the IV package without it and wait for the NVC to send me a letter stating it is missing. But of course this is going to delay my case by 6 weeks. I read other people's experience stating the NVC no longer offers letters to people prior. However sense the HK gov will not give it to me, how do I tell the NVC that it is going to show up at the consulate? Can I get them to arrange the interview without it the file so when the PC is sent to the HK consulate they know what to do with it?

Anyone have this experience in HK or another gov with similar strict rules around the PC?

Changnoi, was it not just yesterday I was wishing you get case complete? and now see!!! And I know once you have a case complete, I will follow suit in a week.
