I have been trying to find out what amount he actually used but he hasn't returned my calls. I Don't know if he used the EZ or full form. I can send it again but I don't want to confuse the officer who is reviewing my case by sending something completely opposite. I have lost sleep the last couple days trying to deal with this lawyer

Is this sent electronically or will he have to send a hard copy to them? Second does he put himself as Agent, I'm confused about this or does he put me? Or is this for my husband to receive information via e-mail and or snail mail? I want to prepare for this so it can be sent out as soon as I get our case and IIV numbers. Thank you.

The DS-261 is a form for the beneficiary/applicant, BUT it can be filled out by either the applicant or the petitioner. Most often the USC spouse is designated as the agent. It's done electronically only, do not submit a hard copy. If you give over the email addresses for both applicant and petitioner at the time you get your case number and invoice identification number, nothing will be done via snail mail.

The IV fee isn't dependent on the AOS track. It can take a couple of weeks after submitting the DS-261 before they'll make your IV invoice available, and not until CEAC shows it as PAID will the DS-260 become available.

You'll still have to physically mail your AOS and IV documentation to NVC. Giving them your email addresses is so that they will notify you electronically when your fees are available. You'll also be notified by email when you get case complete (technically a week after) and when your interview is scheduled. It can save you some time because the emails will come much faster than a postal letter, so you know the same day things become available that you should log on and continue the process.

I have read a great deal from this thread. But I was hoping someone could confirm this information for me. I am not sure if this is what my husband needs to send me.

He needs:

passport photos

birth certificate

police record

copy of his bio page in his passport

our marriage certificate

A document from the court?(I am not sure what this is but I saw it on a page)

PLEASE let me know if I got all of this paperwork correct because I want to make sure he sends me all of the corrct paperwork.

The document from the court is in Arabic: chahada 3adliya.

You can get it from the court of first instance (mahkama ibtidaiya).

It is really easy to get.

Just make sure when they write "none" (or la chayeae in Arabic), make sure they stamp the word "la chayae".

I've seen people asked for a stamped one during interview.

Every bank in America has a unique ABA (American Banking Association) number. It is nine digits long, and is always the first number at the bottom of your check.

Then each bank account has a unique account number.

When you pay online, you first enter the ABA number for your bank, and then your account number. This allows the NVC to deduct the fee from your checking or savings account.

This is why you need to pay these fees from a US bank account. No credit cards allowed. (Too bad - I'd get lots of AMEX points if so!!!)

Talked to a nice guy at the NVC. He said, it is possible that they could checklsit for the signature BUT he has never seen a checklist for that reason. ( a glimmer of hope) He said that sometimes if there is a correction needed on the AOS, they will just update it at the interview. So I am hoping it is only the dumb signature on the AOS. I hope they corrected the adjusted gross income and replaced it with the total income. Seems to me the lawyer is mad that I am reading up on the process. I was right on the income number. Don't you just love how they try to blame me for their mistake....??? really??. is that what $3300. buys these days???

Version 10 and 11 both worked fine. Turn off popup blocker if you have it.

My first choice before I printed it was to email the bar-coded cover page.

No errors reported so far that I have read with IE any version.

LoveMyTico, I sent my lawyer my I-864 and then realized I put the wrong income so I sent him a corrected copy. He mailed the first one to the NVC. Yep. Unbelievable!

Husband told me to just send in the correction. He doesn't want to even wait for the lawyer to answer my question. He is pissed. He keeps saying since we paid this guy so much money he should be on top of our case and should be answering every question. If it was free, then ok, we won't bother him... but I have done everything so far. and now that I think about it. I wonder if this lawyer even sent the IV package with he AOS. UGHHHHH I'm losing so much sleep over this ####### !!!!!

I'm sending the corrected AOS tomorrow with a copy of my 1040 with line 22 highlighted. and since I filled it out, the lawyers signature in not needed. Hopefully they will get both files and combine them.
