Yay! Good for you... What a relief!

Well, sort of... It depends on how competent your lawyer is. Some people find that the lawyer doesn't work as fast as we would so the time savings is negated.

In addition to copying the amount on line 5 onto line 10, it seems like 6a,b, and c could be referring to your spouse, the applicant. After all, they will be included in your household size. Then their income would be 0 or "none" and in question 12, you would check the box for "this person is the primary applicant" and then write their name.

I don't understand why , foreign spouse needs to be included here in the house hold.?

She is not living together ?

Can any one she'd done light on this. I did not include spouse in household

Do you guys know how long police certificates remain valid? Mine is 4 months old, and I can't find any official references as to whether they are good for 6 months or 12 months.

Because the spouse WILL be living there and the whole point is to make sure there is enough income so they won't become a public charge

God bless you in your journey. It is actually a good sign to get a general non specific checklist.

It means they are looking at your case. You can always call them to confirm and when you do

be sure to have a pen and paper and inquire about details such as when AOS and IV packets

were entered into their system. They have picked up the pace recently and are processing

some cases within 2 weeks of system entry. Prepare your heart because some operators that

you talk to at NVC are very rude. When you get one like that just end the call quickly and call

back later. Don't pay to much attention to the timelines they give you. Things are moving faster

now.

IV - immigrant visa

AOS - affidavit of support

MFS - married filing separately

NRA - non resident alien

I was told for some places it's 3 months for others 6. You might want to call the Embassy you will be interviewing at since they are the ones that decide. I find this so inefficient they should all be the same but only God knows why they do what they do.

I read that you have already submitted your DS-260.

I did not see in your timeline what date that was done.

The reason I mention this is at NVC the right hand

doesn't know what the left hand is doing so depending

on the sequence of when each component was processed

a different false checklist is automatically generated.

This is and should happen because we are taking

advantage of all the shortcuts and not waiting for formal

notification.

Ah...i get it now. Took a while to submit DS260 so prolly they thought i havent done it yet. Anyway, thanks for getting back and yeah, your boy looks so adorable.

It depends upon the country who issued it. In some countries, it's only good for a very short period of time. In others, it's good for up to a year. You'll have to search by specific country.

Saylin's wiki is fabulous and full of information. But I might suggest something? Focus on the specific point of your journey you are currently on. Of course, read the whole wiki, but really concentrate on where you are. It's so overwhelming to try to absorb it all at once.

For example, I read through Saylin's wiki several times when I got to NVC, but the other day, after I had submitted both my AOS and IV packages, I went back and read about checklists, and how interviews are scheduled. I waited to really hone in on this info until I was there.

With a frozen brain from USCIS (I laughed at this - I know exactly what you mean!), thaw it out a little at a time!

The second round of interview scheduling happened as expected today!!!!

I got my date for 5/22!!!! I can't believe it, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting huge.

Thanks! I ended up ordering another one this week. I will just send the new one in with my IV package. That should last me until the interview date.

Aos entered march 4 iv march 31.
