Hi VisaJourney! We sent our K1 package to the lockbox in Dallas last week and currently waiting for our NOA1. We checked many times to make sure that everything was perfect in the package. We have lots of evidence (I hope enough for the officers) and we're both looking forward to our wedding and want to be together asap!! :)

I've been checking the Immigration Timelines for K1 visas, and I've realized that they are all different from each other. Some took only 1 month to get NOA2 after receiving NOA1 and some took 3, 6,...

Is this just random? Or does it depend on how the evidence is put, or anything else?

Thanks!

Generally, processing times may depend on which service center you are at or if USCIS has any other petition types they are working on that are more of a priority than K1's.

On the individual petition level, RFE's may slow down the process.

You are lucky that K1's are currently being processed pretty quickly. All the best on your immigration journey.

Your evidence, when looked upon by a total stranger, should show a legitimate relationship.

and we're both looking forward to our wedding and want to be together asap!!

Then you will be.

Yep

Is this just random?

Yep

Or does it depend on how the evidence is put, or anything else?

Depends........on everything.

It's random because there are so many variables in the process. From the Service Center that processes your petition to the person reviewing it, to the kind of evidence you've provided to any situation that may require an RFE. Nothing to be done about it but wait for your NOA2.

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

11/09/2013 - I-129F Packet mailed to Dallas Lockbox                                                                                         06/22/2015 - AOS packet mailed to Chicago Lockbox

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

06/19/2015 - Wedding (L)

The ROC journey:

10/12/2017 - ROC packet mailed to VSC

01/21/2019 - ROC Approved - there was no interview

The N-400 journey:

02/16/2020 - N-400 application filed online

02/21/2020 - Paper NOA received in the mail

03/13/2020 - Biometrics

02/02/2021 - Interview & test - Approved

02/05/2021 - Oath Ceremony

Thanks!

Some people put hard work and front-loading their I-129F and some others don't. My fiance and I did not front-loading evidence as much as others. We only sent 10 pictures together, Skype subscription calls, 20 selected emails random spanned were from 2008-2013, boarding passes, and visa stamps. We actually forgot to include biographical passports from both of us and some members here got RFE for not sent this. Thankfully, we did not get any RFE for this and got approved in 38 days.

Other thing make them took long to approved that long background check they run for petitioner. I remember one member here was venting because USCIS run background check on him almost a year. If a petitioner involved in a crime such AWA, USCIS would never approved the petition. That's a death end.
