I-864/I-864A questions (split topic)

hi guys, i have a question about I864 My aunt is going to be my co-sponsor. We use the same address.

So, im going to file I 864. She files I864a. Do I need her husband file I864a also since they filed their tax return together. If so, what should I put for their current income in form I864a?? Is it the total income in the tax return ( this guy is unemployed )

Firstly, your aunt will be a joint sponsor. Secondly, she will also file an I-864, not an I-864A. Thirdly, since her husband is unemployed, he would not have any income to combine with your aunt which would make him filling out an I-864A totally pointless. Finally, total income is current income. Without revealing numbers, is your aunt paid by the hour or does she have a set salary? How often is she paid? By knowing this information, I or someone else can give you an accurate formula to calculate the total income.

She made about $75k per year. So, her husband doesn't need to file I864a right ??? Cuz some people said since they filed tax together, her husband need to file I864a also

If aunt qualifies on her own, then no I-864A from her husband is required.
