Hey, everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Do you remember me?

I'm so excited!!!!!!! My Mom got her visa!!!!!!!!:dance::dance:

I haven't talked to her yet because she is on the way home from Moscow but I know she got approved! Our congressman, Artur Davis called us today early in the morning to let us know they got a reply from the Embassy that my mom is approved!! Such a relief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy! She is coming in July when my baby is due!!!!!!! WOW!

That is awesome! Especially getting VIP treatment from a congresman, you must be a good taxpayer!!! (Just kidding, they should help everyone like this.)

Congrats, and please post more details about the process and the interview, etc., when you find them out.

Have fun when she gets here!

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

Apparently( I found out later) most Russians know it is next to impossible to get a tourist visa, especially if your a female. My fiance wanted to come to the USA to check out Florida before we filed the K-1. They asked her 1 question (How did you meet) then denied her. She said the Consul said "I dont think he will let you come back" and that was it. The interview lasted 1 minute. She said every girl that day, young and old, got denied a tourist visa. She had good documents. She had a letter from her boss giving her permission to go to USA. Bank statements, Bank loan documents, She had the same, good paying job since coming out of college (Engineer). Proof of travel and return (Europe) as well family ties. The only thing she lacked was home ownership. She said a lady owned a car and a house, along with a summer house and was also denied. I believe the answer was "No" before she even got to the embassy.

I was so embarressed that these people and especially my fiance were treated so poorly by my government. I believe a real tragedy is taking place everyday at the Moscow Embassy when it comes to Tourist Visas. I believe there is some serious profiling going on there.

My advice would be to save your 100.00 bucks and the degrading your loved one will feel after the interview and pursue other alternatives.

Were you apologizing for a our poorly written laws:

INA 214(b ) states that: "every alien (other than a nonimmigrant described in subparagraph (L ) or (v) of section 101(a)(15), and other than a nonimmigrant described in any provision of section 101(a)(15)(H)(i) except subclause (b1) of such section) shall be presumed to be an immigrant until he establishes to the satisfaction of the consular officer, at the time of application for a visa, and the immigration officers, at the time of application for admission, that he is entitled to a nonimmigrant status under section 101(a)(15)."

http://travel.state.gov/visa/laws/telegram...grams_2173.html

Or are you apologizing for our poor enforcement of the law. In other words, Consular officers should ignore all past transgressions of the INA when "non-immigrants" from Russia either overstayed or violated the status of their issued visa and adopt a lax standard of review unlike the current high fraud awareness they probably have now?

I agree with you that the documents are examined before hand and a preliminary decision is made prior to the interview, and the interview is nothing more than a confirmation of that decision.

Congratulations Annabelle, on both your baby and your mom getting a visa! It's so great she will get to be there in time. So in the end, what did she do differently? Would be good for all of us to keep in mind :) Good Luck! Milena :)

If your beloved Russian can manage to get herself into Mexico somehow, then getting from there into the U.S. should be a piece of cake. Then, as a criminal, she can to to L.A. and march and demand that her crimes should be forgiven and she would be rewarded with citizenship!

Cheers!

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

And you'd be legally aloud to marry as well! (Especially in PA.)
