Medical Exam - Mental Illness History

So, long story short - my fiancee had some rough times as a teenager but never hurt anyone or was a threat to anyone. She did see a psychologist for a few years and has held a steady job and attended university. Basically, she's much better now. During her medical exam she was asked if there was history of mental illness and she was honest and told the doctor, who understood and said he had to assign her a class of "B" to her file and asked if she could get a letter from her psychologist saying that she attended sessions with him in the past before he sent the exam results to the consulate. So she's going to do that on Monday. Everything else has gone super smoothly so far. The doctor said that it wasn't required for her to do this but if she did, it would only help for her interview.

Question - is this normal? Surely there are folks who are say, bipolar, or were depressed that apply for visas. Will this cause the visa to be denied? I'm fairly worried even though she is a very well adjusted person.

Thanks in advance! :)

Yeah, I think Class B should be fine. My fiancee had a treatment for a psychosis and disclosed it during the medical. The only quesiton asked during the interview: where and when did you meet?
