To the community of VisaJourney.com, Hello to all of you! :) I just wanted to ask a few questions, here goes!

I have some questions regarding the Two-Year Rule of the K-1 Visa.

1. What do they mean "meeting up with the fiancee two years prior to filing the I-129F form"? Are they saying the couple should see each other two years BEFORE they file the petition?

2. My soon to be wife and I have been together for almost 2 and a half years, but have met each other only a couple of months back, she has already visited me TWICE in just a span of 4 months. Do you guys think that we are eligible for the I-129F petition?

Thank you for all the those who respond! May all of you have a pleasant and wonderful day! :)

You must have been together face-to-face at least once at any time in the 2 years prior to filing.

Hi Dat&Dee! Welcome to the forum! Yes, you are eligible for filing an I-129f. The 2-year rule simply means that you have personally met each other in the last 2 years prior to the filing of the I-129f, and you have proofs to show this. Evidences include but not limited to passport stamps, flight boarding passes, hotel accommodations, pictures together, etc. :)

Face to face meeting in person for a minimum of at least one second and documentation to prove the meeting in person. Length of relationship does not matter.

The two year requirement is - having met in person WITHIN the past 2 years. You two met in person a couple months ago so all is good!

......As long as you have solid documentation to prove the meeting took place.

Nope, can't do that. If you have a legitimate relationship, are serious about it, provide the proper documentation and have adequate financial sponsorship, then you WILL be approved. There is no luck involved.
