Hi All,

I have few questions regarding the counsulate Paper work, they are as follows: (these questions only applies to Islamabad Embassy)

-- I will be submitting the I-134 (AOS) to NVC, do I still need to take the same to the Islamabad Embassy?

* Is the Tax forms suppose to be regular copies of what was sent to IRS or it has to be transcripts from the tax office?

* I have read few threads where the CO's are also requesting I-864 (AOS) in addition to I-134 which usually goes to NVC, any idea why?

-- If Visa approves on the 1st Visit, do you get the stamp on the same day or the next day?

-- If Visa approves on the 1st day, do you get the seal packet on a same day or the next day or they sent through certified mail?

-- To be successful on the first interview, what documents a person must submit to avoid any kind of objections, in other words, a slam-dump of all possible documents?

Thanks,

Sal1234

Answers:

  • I-864 is required to be submitted to the NVC for a spousal visa case; not I-134. If the information on the I-864 changes between the time it is sent to the NVC and the interview, bring an updated form to the interview.
  • You can use copies of the return forms OR transcripts, Up to you which one you wish to submit.
  • See above, if you only send the I-134 to the NVC, you will receive a checklist for the I-864.
  • Country specific answer needed.

  • No amount of documents can guarantee success.

For any tax related documents, using an original IRS transcript suffices.

Moreover, the documents you have submitted to NVC will not be required by Islamabad Embassy to be submitted again. It is of course a neat idea to keep a copy of all those documents for personal record and there's no harm in taking these to the embassy with you, just in case.

Your packet 4 will contain details of documents that will be submitted to the embassy, so follow instructions precisely.

And, God willing, When (not if) you are approved, the CO will inform you right at the end of your interview. However, it will take at least 7 working days to receive the passport and immigration packet from American Express (the courier service in G-8 Islamabad www.aeg.com.pk) The courier service shall call you on your given number.

And if the packet 4 requires any documents to be submitted to Islamabad Embassy, you shall have to use the same courier service to send documents to embassy from within Pakistan and DHL or FedEx etc when sending from abroad.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck!

If your case is straight forward and truthful it is very simple and easy. You go to embassy show your proofs and your out of there with a big smile. My interview was on March 24. I was in and out of the embassy in 2 hours and was asked only a few questions and asked to show pictures. After the CO saw pics she approved the Visa and told me i would receive my passport within 7 days. I received it 3 days laters with the immigration packet and visa stamp on the passport.
