Greetings everyone. I am a US citizen and more than 18 months ago, via an immigration attorney, I filed for a CR-1 visa for my wife who is foreign based. I also filed for our teenage daughter and my son, both also foreign based. My son is now 22 yrs old. With full confidence in the law firm, since they handled my migration to the US, I did not keep any information regarding the application. About 1 year ago they had me fill out an I-864 form. Once or twice a month I have kept asking for a status update and I have been told that they have not received any further information from the USCIS. How do I personally enquire from the USCIS about the status of my application without any type of reference numbers? Is there an email address for the State Department or or the NVC I can use to get the status of my application? I am very concerned now since this application appears to be long overdue.

Your Lawyer will have your case number, ask them.

You need to contact your lawyer and demand your papers and if they do not give them report them to your state bar association and be sure to let your lawyer know he will be reported (No lawyer likes that).

Now if you don't or can't get your receipt# from them then call USCIS you will give them your names and all your information and you should be able to get receipt #.

I have a feeling your case has been approved and you are already at NVC. Time is of the essence because if 1 year has passed since your file got their they can close your case. So you need to start first with your lawyer.

Also be sure once you get all this information to fire your lawyer so they can be removed from all your casefile paperwork. Looks like they made sure you get no correspondence so you are left in the dark.
