Confirmation of Shipping from NSC to NVC

Hi,

Our I-130 was approved on March 19 2014 at the Nebraska Service Centre. Our updated status on the USCIS website states that post-decision activity includes forwarding our case to the NVC.

My question: Will I receive an additional status update/confirmation email when our case is actually shipped from NSC to NVC? Or do I just assume that they have done it, wait 1-2 weeks, and then start calling NVC to confirm receipt?

I'm confused as some people's signatures indicate that they received an additional confirmation that their case had been shipped, where others suggest they just confirmed receipt at NVC by calling.

You actually did receive the notification your case was shipped, and that's as much info as they ever give. You're lucky, since most people's Post Decision Activity just states that they were approved, not that the case was then subsequently sent to NVC/DOS.

You won't receive anything from USCIS to suggest it arrived at NVC. If you choose to wait, NVC will mail you when a case # is generated, but it can be a little while after the fact, so it's recommended to begin calling them after about a month or so.

Sorry, I should clarify. The message we got was:

On March 19, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State.

Is that all we will receive in terms of confirmation that it has shipped to NVC, or should I expect an additional email? If that's all we will receive then I'll wait a week or so and start calling to confirm they have received it at NVC.

You won't come to know from NVC that they received your case, unless you call them and confirm it. I have called and confirmed these thing with them. In 30 to 45 days you should receive invoice from NVC.

I suggest you guys should wait atleast from a week to 12 days to get a confirmation about your case.

Thanks, that's what I was after. I rang USCIS and she said I wouldn't receive any additional notice that they had shipped it, but people's signatures on here suggested I would. Hopefully we'll receive that notice on Monday. Will then wait a week or so to contact NVC to confirm receipt.

Sometimes you get the notice they shipped it, other times, they just ship it and leave it at that. I kind of watch case numbers close to mine just as much as I watch my own, and a few near to mine were approved in January. One of them has the "we shipped your case" message, the other four just stopped dead at the message you got.
