K1 Visa Form I-797 Question

I sent in my K1 Fiance visa package in November '13 and received an email confirming receipt along with a confirmation number for the USCIS website to check our case status. In the email it stated that I should be receiving a letter in the mail confirming the receipt of my package and their beginning the initial review in the form of an I-797. I never received that form in the mail.

Is this a problem? I can still check my case on the website and see that it is still in Initial review. Will I need that form somewhere down the line, should I keep waiting for it, should I call and see where that form is? Any help would be appreciated.

That first notice is your NOA1. It's really not needed for anything....but when the petition is approved they will send you the same notice form which will be your NOA2. That document is needed for the interview and will have the beneficiary's assigned A number on it.

As long as you have received your petition receipt confirmation number, you are GTG.
