NVC requests "DNA" but father & daughter in 2 different countries

NVC requests evidence of relationship but father & daughter are in 2 different countries. The father's name is not on her birth certificate or baptismal record and they are requesting evidence like that.

How can he provide evidence when he is in the USA and the daughter is in the Jamaica? Can he do a DNA BEFORE the NVC requests it? How could he do it if he cannot go to Jamaica at this time?

You should be directed as to what lab to use. He provides a sample according to the labs instructions and she provides a sample according to the labs instructions. No need to be in the same country.

Its easy they ask for this all the time.Call NVC and ask for the accepted labs that He can go in the country he is in and the daughter in her country.

Honestly for the beneficiary the best place is the embassy. They take a swap there, The father goes to lab where he is at, gets swap results sent to labs and results sent to embassy.

Takes time and effort but its done all the time. usually 3 to 4 months it takes.

Thanks, he is the petitioner. When he called the NVC they told him he just needed evidence but could not or would not tell him what he could do if he didnt have his name on the birth certificate or baptismal records (the only two evidence the man reiterated about).

If he is unable to provide evidence the petition for that child will be denied. Is he wanting to do the DNA test, or is the embassy asking him to do a test?

The birth certificate will have to be corrected to add his name, if he is the father.

NVC letter asked for additional evidence but did not specify. He called them bu the agent repeated what is on the letter. He asked if a DNA would do and the agent says "please follow the instructions on the letter for more evidence". Trouble is, the letter does not specify if DNA is required and that is about the only other way I can think of to tell him

Why can't he get the birth certificate amended. Even though the DNA is the best way and probably would be asked for at embassy interview anyway. Why is he so hesitate?

Do you know the correct price for DNA test for my self and mother who lived abroad? The DNA test should be from AABB accredited organization. I am requested to submit evidence that display relationship between me and my mother. There were other options but I preferred the DNA test since it may be requested at embassy anyways. I will also fly back to home (where my mother lives) in April and wondering doing the DNA at the embassy over there will be cheaper. But the blue paper that is sent to me as RFE from the service center mentioned that it should be from AABB accredited organization. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I already called few AABB accredited and they gave me different prices. I want to know the right prices so that I will not pay over. What do you mean by "This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this"? I asked them and they mentioned that it will take a while like 6 to 8 weeks to complete the test. That is only because of the backlog at oversea embassy. Thanks again!

You have to call all those labs and get the price that suits you. I have heard $500 to $800. But everyone I know who did DNA was asked by embassy and the beneficiary had their mouth swabbed their the Parent was in US and they went to lab. then results all sent in and it took about 3 1/2 months.
