Passport seva Kendra does not require appointment for obtaining PCC.

All for 2 originals

Passport seva Kendra does not require appointment for obtaining PCC.

Ask for 2 originals

Can't be generalized for all PSK's and varies from PSK to PSK but no harm in giving a shot by walking in to PCC. Its after all India and things work based on the mood of the passport officer. Hope PSO does not end up having a fight with this wife on the day your husband goes to PCC. :-)

Quoting from the PSK website link.

"Note:

  • Only emergency/medical cases and preapproved categories may visit Passport Seva Kendra without appointment. Service will be provided at the discretion of Passport Seva Kendra in-charge/Passport Officer.
  • Minor applicants below 4 years of age need to carry a recent coloured passport size (4.5 x 3.5 cm) photograph with a white background while visiting Passport Seva Kendra. Other applicants need not carry any photograph as photograph will be captured at the Passport Seva Kendra.
  • Resubmission of application form is required, in case the applicant does not visit the Passport Seva Kendra within 90 days from the online form submission.

Doesn't show anything related to the circular and infact shows that appointment has to be made online at the link below.

http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/pccOnlineApp

Step 3 Click "Apply for Police Clearance Certificate" link. Step 4 Fill in the required details in the form and submit. Step 5 Click the "Pay and Schedule Appointment" link on the "View Saved/Submitted Applications" screen to schedule an appointment.

Online Payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at all Passport Seva Kendras.

Online Payment can be made using any one of the following modes:

  • Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard & Visa)
  • Internet Banking (State Bank of India (SBI) and Associate Banks Only)
  • SBI Bank Challan
Step 6 Click the "Print Application Receipt" link to print the application receipt containing Application Reference Number (ARN)/Appointment Number. Step 7 Visit the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) where appointment has been booked, along with original documents.

I can just walk in to the PSK for PCC. No need to fix appointment. But not sure if that works in all PSK offices. U can jus check with your regional passport office.

its better to make an appointment and go

because Psk do not allow inside without appointment some times

as for PCC now a days appointment also taking 4 to 5 days

and once you get appointment the same day only you get the PCC

they provide one also some times

so you can request them 2 copies also

its depends on mood and how you speak with the issuing officer

This is what Hubby did back on March 19th, he paid online and everything but the first available appointment is for April 23rd! So next week is going to see if he can walk in and get this done or if he really has to wait for appointment since its so far away still and we have completed everything else for NVC (all fees paid, DS 260 complete etc)

That is what my wife did in chennai when she got the PCC in Oct 2013 and in Jan 2014. She got the appointment after a week so it was OK. In your case all you can do is walk in and see if they will give it.

Goodluck.

How did your visit for PCC go today? Hubby took an appointment (3 weeks ago) and the earliest available was 23 Apr so he is going to walk in tomorrow and see if he can get it done. We have completed everything else for NVC and don't want to wait until 23rd for PCC!

SO I am curious if you were able to walk in and get the PCC work completed? all same day or do you have to wait?

Every PSK in India has different rules. Please check the particular seva kendra you want to go to, to get the police clearance certificate.

In Bangalore, you can walk in without an appointment, but not in Chennai etc.

Go to this website "http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink" and check on the link to the right middle of the page where it says "Passport office Connect" and click your city from the pull down menu.

You will get the facilities in each that allow or dont allow walk in.

Hope this helps.
