The NVC blows

This is something I've been thinking about for some time....

Now, my husband"s case was forwarded last week, so thankfully I am finish with them, but the NVC's operators I believe are some the worst customer service reps, I have ever dealt with in my life.. and I do customer service over the phone and I can be pretty bad sometimes (my mum says its karma) but they are horrible. First of all, it takes forever to connect to them whenever you want to ask them anything and then when you are finally lucky enough to get in queue and they take the call, they act so exasperated as if you are wasting their time. And it's not just one experience this is everytime... I have had one good experience with one of their ops and the rest were horrible. I know this process can be hard and exciting when you are finally seeing progress with your case, and i always make it a point to hide my excitement and only ask reasonable questions but they act as if they don't know that their job is to reunite family members. It's disgusting...

thankfully I am now finish with them and i no longer have any reason to call on them, to those who are still dealing with the NVC just hang on and you will be delivered too.

Karma............I'm with your mother!! lol

Seriously, many of the people that man the phones at the NVC or on the mis-information line aren't interested in your case, in the slightest. They are just there to earn a salary. There is no accountability, you don't know who they are, they don't care!

I am pleased that you no longer have to deal with them, but remember how you felt when you next have to deal with a customer on the phone - it will have made the whole experience worthwhile if you can pass on the love!

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

I hate to be the ugly duckling here, but to be honest I called the sh-t out of them during my time of waiting and I had nothing but fantastic experiences!

I made sure that when I called I was very prepared with the case information, exactly what I needed and why, and was overly friendly in asking for the assistance. Being in South Florida, you become accustomed to absolutely ZERO customer service anywhere so maybe I am hardened - what is "nice" to me may not be to others, but I personally tip my hat to the many people in the NVC I dealt with. My process went smoothly, without incident or mistake, quickly and with good customer service.

hello dears........

I dont agree with you....just get the number of pending cases at the NVC and remember including me and you everybody calls almost daily or once in two days to enquire about the current status.......and you know people call again after 10 mins thinking that the another operator will give different answer......how can they give different answers.....ya the wordings must be different.....but what they does is that they enters the case # and reads out whatever the status their mentiond with our case #..........these operators are like receptionists.....dont know what the officials does with the files......they reads out and sometimes interprets what they thinks.......and if you insists they will give their opinions......thats all.....

We also can give a fair idea about the time it will take to complete once process and what is the minimum days to expect to get the next papers from the NVC and what should be send alongwith with which forms........

So in my opinion we should not blame them....you know even parents will start to get stressed out and will shout even at thier ltl children aged 3-5 yrs...then these operators are just human beings.....they cant shout or angry at you....so they just gets irritated by the same types of questions being answered in differents accents of same english....

any comments on my opinion

You want to see rude people who don't know what customer service is come to Las Vegas...... I am with Brad on this one, I have called 3 times this week. I have never waited for more than 3 minutes on the line and when speaking with an operator never had an issue. I asked the questions I wanted answered, they answered and if I didn't follow them I asked again and they were more than happy to help. Maybe not the friendliest of all people I have ever spoken but then again who is. Remember the caseload is huge, you are not their only client so if they don't seem interested in your case but give you the information you want, that is the objective. If you have trouble getting through, call early or late and the time may drop drastically for you to wait.

I agree. The wait time was exasperating; but the people I talked to were nothing but friendly and helpful. Wish they would update the web system to be a little more user friendly and up to date.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

my wife and i used to joke that whenever i called NVC, the operators could see my number on the caller id and then they would draw straws to see who had to answer, thats how often i called...and i can say unequivocally i never had a rude or discourteous operator take my call, and many of them were indeed very friendly and congenial, some joked with me, i remember 1 who, when i made a self-deprecating joke of how many times i called, said "that's quite alright sir, that's why we're here". i would be very satisfied if this were the kind of customer service i always recieved. kudos 2 NVC!
