Hello everyone,

As the title above, how long does it take from case completed at NVC center to scheduling an interview in Guangzhou(China)? Case completed on Jan 19th,2014. It has been completed about two months. The embassy in Guangzhou doesn't accept any calls and Emails. Kinda concerned about if they had problem getting my case package and so on. And my case is F2A. What can I do? Thank you guys so much. for now, call into NVC, get a supervisor and

ask where you are in the scheduling queue,

or if you will be scheduled during the next scheduling round.

Sorry, I mis-spoke.

Did you do EP at NVC or no?

If yes, NVC schedules the appointment.

If no, GUZ IV schedules the appointment, and they usually not schedule it fast,

as

the casefile transits into China (4 to 5 days) then sits (per treaty) in a China Customs Warehouse for 1 to 4 months,

then GUZ IV goes out to get it,

then GUZ IV opens the casefile,

then GUZ IV sets up the next appointment in the calendar for you,

then GUZ IV gives you some notice about it.

Although 'you' are an F2-something - what about yer petitioner? Did your petitioner use Electronic Processing at NVC, or no ?

If you and your petitioner NOT do EP at NVC,

then the only visual you have is at the CEAC website,

where you check it daily,

and you are looking for the first instance of 'administrative processing' in the status.

When that's the status, for the first time, GUZ IV has gone out to get the casefile, brought it back to the Consulate IV Unit, and has (at least) opened it.

USUALLY the appointment is made within a 30 day period after opening the casefile, for a date 20 to 45 days past the scheduling day.

Thank you so much.. It's very helpful! Golly, she didn't use EP at NVC. It may sit in custom for 4 months??? WOW...What a difference!..I have gotten on that CEAC website, it seems like they haven't open my file.....T-T

apologies - that's not CEAC -

you might want to make a CEAC account nowish.

don't know of it? same site where the petitioner paid the fees online.

"Once a case is document qualified, and there is a visa available, the NVC considers the case ready for scheduling. The NVC currently schedules interviews for all consular posts except Guangzhuo, China. Interview dates are typically scheduled 6-8 weeks before the actual interview. Once the interview is scheduled, the NVC sends a letter or email to the petitioner or agent, the representative (if there is one), and the applicant (if there is no agent designated). This letter lists the date and time of the interview, and directs the applicant back to the consulate’s website for further instructions. The NVC currently schedules about 25,000 interviews per month."

Quick question here, is the Guangzhuo Consulate handle scheduling the withe the EP as well?

Thanks

No, when using EP, NVC sets the schedule.

NO EP? GUZ IV sets the schedule (or allows you to self-schedule at ustraveldocs.com/cn )

Hi Darnell,

Ours is F2A visa too, it's EP, GZO#.

CC was exactly two weeks ago.

No email/correspondence whatsoever regarding interview scheduling yet.

I learnt that GUZ consulate releases available slots to NVC a month earlier. Question is, do you know if Guangzhou Consulate only release dates to NVC once a month ? twice a month ?

Other visa category folks who can schedule their appointment by themselves could already schedule for April 2016 in GUZ.

It would really suck if we do not get visa interview date in April :(

What a wait for F2A category- first for priority date and now even for interview !
