Nope, just calling with my cell phone from CA. guess i just need to keep calling or call later at night

I am in the same time zone as NVC, so I would start calling when I got to work. Even in the morning it could take up to 10 times for me to get past the busy signal - then up to 30 minutes waiting to talk to a person.

I would just put in 1 earbud of my headphones at my desk at work and keep dialing on my cell until I got through. My work does not allow us to really talk on cell phones in the office, so that was my way of doing it. Made the wait time to talk to NVC easier because I could get work done while I was waiting When they picked up I would just step out of the office to speak to them.

I know the feeling, I can't count how many times I rechecked my paperwork. My packet wasn't very complicated since I'm using the EZ form, but there's still that base level of anxiety just because it's so important. I was riding the elevator down with a colleague on my way to mail the packet this afternoon, compulsively rereading everything such that I forgot he was there until he commented how quiet I was It would've taken too much effort to explain the importance of the documents, so now he just thinks that I find the post office extremely engrossing Ah well. Back to living in limbo for a while!

If it makes you feel any better, I had a very near oopsie. I had put my packet together and was finalizing taking out the paper clips and attaching with a binder clip, and I went to the post office and got back to my office to discover my paystubs and my employment letter sitting on my desk. I had to race back to the post office and they opened it up so I could put the docs in with the packet. Thankfully the post office is only a minute away from my office. I was seriously cursing myself!

Paid my IV fees. wuhu!!!!! Just got an email. Will mail out the Docs tomorrow. God have mercy on all of us.

Hey everyone - I just had a little panic attack because we received another e-mail from NVC entitled "Checklist Cover Letter". But looking at the list itself, I think it's actually good news. Here's what it says:

______F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still

waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return

the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this

letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar

code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the

address provided.

So basically, this is saying "Hey, your IV documents have been reviewed and approved - we just need that stuff we asked for the other day." Which I sent in on Tuesday. Does that sound right to other folks looking at this? It just seems weird that we would get two checklists so close to one another.

I'm calling NVC now to try and confirm my suspicions/hopes, but of course I keep getting a busy signal.

So i am making 2 sets of IV package. One is all the originals and the other is copy of that.

do i need to put the barcode cover sheet in front of both of them ?

So I got the checklist I was expecting for my AOS packages, but it seems they didn't catch everything...

After I submitted my AOS packages for both my wife and stepson, I realized I made a mistake by entering the wrong income information for question 13 on the I-864. So, I decided to be proactive by sending a corrected I-864 for both wife and stepson.

After I did this, I found ANOTHER mistake. I realized I entered my (petitioner) information for "Mailing Address" and "Other Information" under Part 2, Information on the Principal Immigrant.

HOWEVER, the checklist I received today for both my I-864 forms only calls out my first mistake. I wonder if I should call and tell them about the second mistake, otherwise they'd have my wife and stepson with the same exact birthdate and A-number as me

I use Skype to call as well. You can get a monthly subscription for a few dollars a month- I think the unlimited subscription is only $6 a month for all landlines and mobiles in the US. It makes calling so much easier...only thing is sometimes the service agents are grumpy because they think they're on speakerphone...

Just got off the phone with NVC operator - looks like I was right. Our IV packet has been reviewed and approved!! Woohoo!!

And they registered receiving the packet I sent them earlier in the week. Now I just hope they don't wait the full 30 business days to look it over. I am really hoping for a late April/early May interview date.
