Saylin, please update our case, received case on 03/17/14, received bin on 03/18/14, received iin on 03/19/14 confirmed via email from nvc. Our lawyer is processing our invoice payment this after noon and hopefully it shows paid by EOD tomorrow on their site :) now we go to the 601a phase but at least we get a nice anniversary present which is this saturday :)

Are you feeling Joint or separate tax return ?

My accountant did same thing ..

I put my tax return on hold until I do not find correct answer for it.

But I was thinking to put NRA in stead of Applied for.

I am not sure how it applies when you file as MFS, but for the MFJ option, I entered NRA (non-resident alien) for my spouse's SSN. It was accepted by the IRS. The electronic versions would not take it. an error message kept coming up.

The 'APPLIED FOR' option means you have a pending ITIN (W7) application. I did not have that. That option may allow you to get a higher tax return. If there is no actual SSN or pending ITIN for the spouse, the IRS will deduct a percentage from the return. If you truly have a pending ITIN, then, it sounds like your tax preparer did the right thing to get you the most out of your return.

I am no expert on these things, but had to do the research for my personal return and am just providing what happened in my experience. You all should definitely contact your tax preparer and find out why they did it, if it is okay and if it is the best option for you.

Collie, did your parents need to get "kitty visas" for their cats?

I think it's awesome that people don't have to leave their pets behind. I'd be devastated to leave my kitty!

I had to get a health certificate for my dog, and she had to get her vaccinations. I brought her with me on the plane, and we had no problem getting through customs with her.

My DS-261 submitted on the 3rd was in their system as of the 5th. Hoping your invoice is available soon! Have you received the email yet?

Nope, nothing.

I got the email for my mum, but not for my dad. Still can't pay yet though. I bet you get yours today or tomorrow , since we're on the same time line wink.png

I sure hope so. I'm chomping at the bit to get this last bit done. Tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary of my Petition's Priority date, and I haven't even gotten to fill out the damn visa application yet.

Hi Saylin,

Is your recommended approach throughout form I-864 to avoid checklist to use " N/A " and " none " or leave blank ?

Reason I am asking is my wife has no middle name. Leave blank ? None? N/A?

People were getting checklists for leaving things blank, so... it might be best to not leave things blank. Since a middle name is applicable, put 'none' in that case.

That's what I said to my husband too when the supervisor told him March 3rd.

The NOA2 says the notice date is March 5th so maybe it was actually approved on the 3rd? Not sure.

I will call the NVC tomorrow to confirm they have our file and update here.

Well, notice date is NOA date, so that's correct. Regardless, I don't have a column for when USCIS sends the case, so that doesn't really matter. I just found it odd :P

I already have your case number on the spreadsheet. Nothing you listed is a column on my spreadsheet, so there's nothing to update.

I've just tried to call 6 times in a row and each time it comes back busy with no ringing tone, just the BEEP BEEP BEEP busy tone.

I'm bringing my dog to the USA in May. I'm super nervous about the trip! I'm flying AA through MIA airport. I really hope it's quick and easy to get through!

I usually have to call 15 times before it goes through. Hang up, redial, hang up, redial until you get through. :)
